Question for you?I know you held you welcome bbq at Hapuna. Most of my guest are staying at Kona Coast Resort, is it a reasonable drive for the guest?TIA

Hmmm...I think it could be a longish drive between those two especially in bad traffic however totally worth it since the beach is spectacular.  If your guests are mostly staying in Kona, I think it would be nice to host something a little further away since it's the nicest beach on the island.  There's no drinking allowed (legally anyway) so it shouldn't be a big deal to drive back and forth.Something that I didn't do was remind people to bring beach towels (they all forgot since everyone was at a resort) so my suggestion is to either put a little reminder in the invite or provide some (or at least provide beach mats).

Hopefully traffic won't be too bad. It would be a Friday maybe I should ask guest to start heading over around 10:00 a.m?

What time does your BBQ start?  Perhaps instead of telling them what time to leave, I'd tell them that it can take 30-45 minutes to get there so they can make their own plans. Our BBQ was pretty casual, we set a 3-hour window of time (Noon to 3pm I think) and guests could come/go as they please - we had guests staying all over the place including Kona.

I was thinking noon as well. I felt like the only ones who kind of needed to be there somewhat on time is  the wedding party so we can practice. especially if the Kahu is there, I don't want to keep him. Thanks I thinkit will be wort the drive and lots of fun!

Oh - we had the wedding rehearsal at 10am (at our resort which was only 6 miles from Hapuna Beach) and then we headed over with the bridal party.  It was nice since they all asked if there was anything they could bring/do so we had plenty of people to help set it up :)

Duh that is what I should do! What would I do with out you?!?? Question did Leon let you use one of his mics for the ceremony (officiant)?

:) Yes, we used Leon's sound equipment for the ceremony (Leon had two set-ups at our wedding, one at the ceremony and one for the cocktail reception) although I had to get a small, brief-case-sized generator for the ceremony since our resort didn't have power on the beach (I got that from Localites).
