Steam/pressing dress on Maui

Any recommendations? Or, do you think the raw silk will relax if I put steam it in the shower (not literally in the shower, of course).

I sent my dress, as well as his suit, my veil, and MOH's dress ahead to Elly's in Kihei, and she did a great job with all three.

I had Ellys in mind but never needed it. My husband's tux came from there and I will say they were very nice. I took the dress out of the bag as soon as we reached Maui. It is humid there which helped.   There were still a few wrinkles so the day of the wedding I just used a small steamer on it.

Leah - you have the best ideas.  I'd been trying to think about where to send anything we send in advance.  WC?  Our inn?  But sending it straight to the cleaner/steamer is a great idea.  Thanks!Carrie(way too early to really be worried about steaming a dress I won't buy for months, but that doesn't stop me!)

Carrie- Check out Elly's website, they have instructions for how to send them a dress. I loved doing it that way. I personally would have hated dragging my dress through the airport. This way, I had already confirmed its arrival at Elly's before we even left Chicago. I felt much better about this! www.ellysformalwear.com
