Hawaii

Hey Ladies- I am in need of some help :)

Hello All, We just recently decided on an private ceremony in Honolulu, HI for our wedding ceremony.  The thought of just him and I on a private beach getting hitched sounds extreamly wonderful, however I am a bit stuck on picking the perfect person to set up our small ceremony. Most people I contact seem to be a bit outdated and out of the loop when it comes to what we are looking for, or they are extreamly over priced. All I am really looking for is the small ceremony with the key player (minister, music, witness) and an EXTREAMLY good photographer that will be willing to meet us throughout the duration of our trip to take some more shots. -Do you think I am just maybe being to picky? Anyone have any suggestions?

If I was you, I would simply handle everything myself. You don't need a WC. (We didn't use a WC for our wedding and reception on Maui). Read reviews knotties have posted. That will give you a good feel about the vendor before you call them.    Do your own research as well.   I found our musicians by just doing a web search - she had samples posted so I was able to get a feel. The one thing I can't see you finding is a photographer who would be willing to shoot your wedding and then meet you on several more days to take pictures (unless you are willing to pay them tons).    Most photographers will do your wedding day and some will also do trash-the-dress shots a day or two later.   I have never heard of one who will meet you over the duration of your trip.

Hey there, I haven't gotten married yet, but I am using Above Heaven's Gate for my ceremony next May. You can check it out at www.hawaiiweddings.com The sell themselves as trying to be different from the Mc Wedding companies you typically find in Hawaii. The staff I've dealt with so far have been great and it is a beautiful location. More private than the typical wedding that take place in Waikiki. The aren't the fastest at responding to email, but they will respond. :) Otherwise they have a toll free number you can call.Hope that helps!

Our WC did small weddings too, she said the things she normally took care of was beach permit/insurance, picking up flowers on way to site, organizing vendors, transportation, etc.  Just depends on where you are having it.   www.hawaiiweddingsandevents.com
