I don't want to sound ungrateful for a gift...

...but a single champagne flute is kinda a strange gift, right? Like, what are we going to do, pass it back and forth? Or perhaps one of us will drink straight from the bottle...

I agree with Tya.  Or maybe you'll get the 2nd flute from these people as a 1st anniversary gift!  Oh, the suspense!  :P Someone sent us a ladle as a wedding gift.  It came to us in the mail from Williams-Sonoma.  I didn't know who it was from at first, and my ungrateful, initial reaction was "WTF?  A ladle?!"  Then, I found out it was from an old friend on the mainland I had not had contact with in years and whom we didn't invite to the wedding.  She caught wind of our impending nuptials and was sweet enough to send us a gift.  It has become my most favorite ladle!  It has volumetric graduations on it, which is great for portion control.  :)

Maybe he should drink from the bottle, that way you look more lady like and refined.  hehehe

It's weird, it didn't come with a note or anything... and no other champagne flutes have been bought off the registry either. It's a mystery!Phil claims I'll be the one drinking from the bottle. I'm not sure that he's wrong.

that is odd!  maybe the person didn't read and thought it was a set of some kind...?kind of related my husband's friend is getting married soon.  I went to check out their registry and it was really odd - like not complete (but lots of stuff was purchased off it).  For example, they had registered for ONE place setting.  It was china - so I'm guessing they don't already have a full set hanging around, but maybe?  Another oddity - they registered for a set of knives, but all different brands (top quality though).  not normal, right?

Alyson, say no more.....I just about flipped when I heard that FI's best man got us $400 titanium chopsticks......I felt like the hugest ingrate ever!  But at least there are others that feel the same way as me.
