Children at weddings

Are you having them? I'm having a bunch! (My sister has 4 kids and the oldest is 4!) I was thinking about hiring a baby sitter or have a little play area...What have you done for kids?

We are having a lot of kids at our wedding (about 15 ages 6 and under -- including our 2 boys!) so we will definitely have a couple baby sitters and an "entertainment area" just for them. I want to have a kids table with white paper as a table cloth and each child will receive a favor sand pail with crayons and activity books in it. I'm also thinking of having a couple games on hand just in case. I figure once the dancing starts the kids will have a blast joining in -- but I want them to be entertained during the cocktail and dinner time so their parents can enjoy themselves!

We hired a couple trained and licensed nannies who supervised the children as well as provided activitites. They also brought kid-sized furniture (tables & chairs) so they could color and such comfortably. I provided blankets and fun-shaped pillows in case anyone wanted to sleep. I also provided kiddie goodie bags with all sorts of little things - these were placed at the dinner table to occupy the kids while their parents ate.

We are having about 9 children under the age of 13 - including our own 2.  We will be doing Kid Friendly options for their meal and have coloring books/crayons hopefully Hawaii related.  The older one will help keep an eye on the little ones.  It's going to be a blast!

We had about 8 kids at ours so I just DIY'd a coloring book to keep them entertained during dinner.  I've got some templates if you're interested.

Yes, I highly recommend the company we used: mkcare.com They are based on the Big Island but have nannies on Oahu as well. Good luck!
