50% chance of rain...what would you do?

hi ladies. i am back again. the knottie vibes worked and felicia seems to be getting weaker. THANK YOU! still the possibility of rain has increased to 50%. i am just not sure what to do. yvonne design and catering connection is suggesting a tent to cover my entire area including my fabric canopy. i just can't picture how that would look and if that will even look decent. WHAT SHOULD I DO? risk it? tent it? change everything? i really can't believe this is happening. i feel like cinderella that is locked up in her room by her evil stepmother nature! thanks for taking the time to listen!

can you rent the tent and have it on hand? ... hmmm, it may be hard to set up above an area that already has things set up (the fabric canopy, the tables, etc.) what does the fabric canopy look like? There are some tents that are really gorgeous... maybe you could ask around or if you have a WC, see if he/she can find a good-looking tent and maybe scrap the fabric canopy idea? Or set up the fabric canopy in a different way or nearby in a modified form to cover ... maybe guestbook area or something? Idk what your set up looks like.

Okay, so I don't want to alarm you, but if Felicia (or her remnants) is headed this way, I'd also be concerned about the high winds she will bring.  I'm not sure how well your canopies and tents will be anchored.  Lani doesn't have some kind of rain contingency plan?  Do you have a wedding coordinator who can help you out with a backup plan?

I would read the news articles about Felicia, like on weather.com and other places where it might be most up-to-date and accurate... i've been reading some right now, and if it were me, I would prepare a contingency plan. good luck and mega mega knottie vibes!!!

I'm not sure if Lanikuhonua and Ihilani (right next door) have any kind of relationship, but I wonder if Ihilani might be able to help with an alternate location in this extreme circumstance.  Wouldn't hurt mentioning it to your Lani contact or WC.  You never know!

Oh dear...I was just catching that on the news!! I would get a tent. Better safe than sorry. Can you get a tent and not put it up til a few hours before hand if you know the weather better? It would be cool to rent it so you have it and then only use it if needed. Lots of Knottie VIBES!!

OHH NO JEN!I'm sorry I haven't even gotten back to your email, but wow, I understand what predicament you are in, because YF has a tight contract and you have to keep the canopies no matter what right? I had to think about that "what-if" situation as well, but never really had to worry about it as you do.I have no solid advice... there is just so much invovled. I wish I had more to offer, at this point I would really just listen to my vendors best judgement and I'm going to send huge knottie vibes to the upcoming brides.LOTS OF VIBES!

I would rent the tent to have as backup.. but have them not put it up until day of. Then you can check the weather in the morning and have them put it up if its really going to rain.. but if not.. then don't put it up.. but the extra money i think is worth spending

Talk to your WC, she already should be considering back-up plans.  There was rain forecasted for our wedding day and before we even knew about it, ours gave us the different possible plans.   We did have a tent though so we were covered for reception, it was just if ceremony would have to be moved in
