Hawai'i dwellers

which website would you recommend I use for tracking the storm. They all seem to have different projections, and I've decided that, if I'm going to freak out (and I believe I will), I'd like to have the most accurate forecast.'cause, you know, the Honolulu Advisor is telling me that it'll be "breezy" on Monday/Tuesday. Breezy sounds very pleasant and not at all hurricane-ish.

butting in - isn't your date 8/18?  Maybe that's a little far for an accurate forecast... I remember ppl telling me not to trust the 10 day forecasts.Or am I wrong and your date is different?  Your knot bio says 8/18...I will be sending especially potent (at least I hope they are) and fervent knottie vibes for your special day!!

I rely on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration site (http://www.noaa.gov) for weather forecasts (you can enter in your ZIP code) and the related National Weather Service National Hurricane site (http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/).

My date is the 18th, but we're flying in late Monday night which is about when (give or take a few hours) Felicia is supposed to be near the islands (depending on the source).

I agree with Nicole.  Being from New Orleans, I have had to track a hurricane or two & we tend to rely on NOAA. It will be fine, but I will definitely send good weather vibes your way!

Hurricanes are so unpredictable.  They could speed up and arrive sooner than expected, their intensity(Category) can change, and their paths can change.  I remember Hurricane Iniki back in 1992.  It was tracking well south of the islands and looked like we were in the clear until it decided to take a 90 degree turn up north and made direct impact with Kauai.  Crazy.  We can hope for the best, but need to err on the side of caution.

Yeah, I remember the same thing happened with typhoons hitting Japan. You never really know how it's going to pan out. At least it's down to a category 2...

I like this website because it takes into account that there is more than one climate on every island: http://hawaiiweathertoday.com/ :)

Sorry to tell you this but there is no forecast that is reliable for tracking the weather in Hawaii.  I grew up in Hawaii and basically the weather report is always 10-15mph tradewinds, mauka showers.  I know you are concerned about the storm but even that is pretty unpredictable.  Several months ago they closed down schools because winds were suppose to be crazy strong and it basically just rained with normal tradewinds.  I wouldn't track it too much, you'll just stress out.
