Help with Petal Cones

Hi Knotties!  Late in the game, but I have decided I want the petal toss at the end of ceremony...   any advice on how to do the cones?   I know I have seen posts, but did a search and nothing comes up.   Did anyone do their own petals?  If so, how many flowers (do you have to use roses?) does it take per guest?  TIA for any advice!!

We made petal cones for the the toss.  I used Aylee's template as a basis:http://www.ayleebits.com/2006/06/10/diy-petal-toss-cones/I modified a little bit to fit our own ribbon size and I used stardream cardstock instead of vellum.  We used orchids for the toss.  Each cone fit about 1.5-2 cups of orchids.  I ordered the orchids from this place on Maui.. the name of the place escapes me right now.  But it's in Kula.  They could help you with the amount to order as well.  I used orchids for both the toss and aisle decoration.

Ditto Peachmango's response.   I also used Aylee's template and modified it a little bit.  I don't know how many flowers to order 'cause my WC filled them with some of the petals we got for our petal lined aisle.  We used rose petals but I have seen other types of flowers used.  I also liked orchids for the toss but there weren't/aren't any burnt orange orchids!
