Suggestions for Rum & Vodka cocktails?

Sorry I've been MIA - been wrapped up in wedding details (less than 6 weeks to go) and along the way, we took a little vacay to Thailand, then the laptop died, then the cat got really sick, and now my house looks like crap.But... back to my posting. We have a bartender included in with our caterer. We've decided to go with champagne, wine, beer and cocktails. Don't want to do the hassle of a full bar. We have to provide the alcohol and the mixers so we're trying to keep it to rum and vodka cocktails.I've got maitais, maybe mojitos for the rum. No idea with the vodka. Any suggestions?TIA

For vodka cocktails, you can't go wrong with vodka-tonic, vodka-cranberry or vodka-red bull.Could you pick up some apple martini mix?  I think I've seen some where you jsut need to add vodka. Also try Gimlet.  Our friends drink these sometimes.  It's vodka or gin with lime juice. Will you have daiquiri mixes?  I think you can add either rum or vodka to spice that up.  Perhaps you can do an imitation of Lava Flow by combining pina colada and strawberry daiquiri.

Hi Foxy!  Aaw...hope your furbaby is feeling better.  :)For the vodka cocktails, there are various flavored martinis, white/black Russians, or how about some tropical cocktails?  Maybe something in your wedding colors?  Here's a link with a bunch of vodka drinks: http://www.cocktailtimes.com/vodka/

We did one that was sake, ginger vodka and pear juice. Delicious!

Yum, thank you ladies. Those are some tasty sounding drinks. Especially that POG-vodka. I think I may have to find a happy hour this evening and do some vodka-cocktail taste-testing.
