Hello Ladies!  I am newly engaged and my fiance and I want to have our wedding in Oahu.  I hope I am not bothering anybody since I know this is the hawaii board and not the desitination board.  I would just really appriciate all the help I can get.  We have only been there once.  I am looking for a place to get married that is perferably not a tourist type place.  Like a local quite beach or something.  Just seeing if anyone here had any ideas.  I'd love to hear about anyone who is having or had their wedding in Oahu.  Thanks!

Meh.  I bother them all the time.    There's lots of knotties on here who are doing Hawaii DWs, and some local girls as well.  Everyone's super helpful.  Welcome!

Heehee!  You're actually in the right place!  Most of the girls on here are having DW!  I didn't get married on Oahu so I have no helpful ideas for you but I just wanted to say Congratulations on your engagement!P.S. How many people are you expecting to attend your wedding?  (It'll probably help out the Oahu brides recommend come places)

Welcome to the board, I am getting married in two months on Waimanalo Beach, I dont know if it is very touristy or not I just saw pictures of it and loved it.. I also have not been there and seen it in person, I took my WC word for it as well and there are also a few other brides that seem to be getting maried there.. Good luck and dont think you are bothering we all ask lots of questions and the ladies here both local and destination are so helpful..

Congrats!  It's no bother at all.  All the girls here are really friendly so if there is anything you want to know, just ask :)I got married on Maui so I won't be of much help.  But you should check out the HawaiiBrides bio.  It has an unofficial list of all the hawaii knotties.  It's sorted by knottie name and island.  Hope you can get some inspiration from that.Happy Planning!

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to the board! There are a lot of destination brides here (myself included), so you're not a bother. Everyone is helpful on this board. Feel free to bring your questions. I'm getting married in Oahu at Lanikuhonua. It's a beautiful oceanside location, but it's not very cost-effective if you're planning a smaller wedding. I'm sure other brides will give you other ideas, so stick around.
