Hawaii

favors

If you have a candy buffet can that considered the favors to save $$$. I think it's a cute idea.

Yup!  And you can make some really cute bags for the guests to load up the candy in.

Ditto on the pp. I went to a wedding where they had a cookie buffet. I think the cookies were homemade. They had bags available so people can get as much cookies as they want.

Yeah, I definitely think so... I love the idea.  We actually did a candy buffet for a big event at my office and it was a HUGE hit.  I thought it would be too 'wedding like' but we had a color scheme and cute bags with labels that said "how sweet it is, thanks for your support" or something along those lines and everyone raved about it :-)

Yep the candy buffet is considered a wedding favor. I wanted to do something different for my guests. I love the idea of getting creative and decorating the candy buffet jars and table. I have a cute candy buffet poem that I found online too! We are using cute cellophane bags we found at Walmart. 100 bags for only $3.50. Plus I am designing a cute circular sticker that will be placed on the bag thanking them for attending our wedding. I am figuring that the max my candy buffet will cost is $170.00. That includes all my glass containers, scoops, decorations and estimated cost to order all the candy from the mainland and ship it here to Hawaii. I am trying to order most of the candy locally.

I have bought all my containers at either Ross Dress for Less or Walmart. Most of my containers are from Ross and cost $4.99 each. My 2 apothecary jars came from Ross too and were $10.99 each. I am not sure if you reside in Hawaii or on the mainland. Another good place to get containers would be at Michael's Craft store (in the mainland). They always have 40% off coupons that you could use. As for the scoops I haven't found those yet. So my friends in Seattle are going to check the dollar stores there to see if they have any.

My friend just went to a beach wedding where they had little buckets, like a bucket you would use on the beach for sand for the candy buffet. There might be a really cute inexpensive way to do that. I'm sure you could find some little pails and write something cute on them. Just a thought.
