Help! Eloping in Hawaii

My fiance and I want to get married on the beach in Maui. We aren't inviting any of our friends or family becuase of MIL issues. This might sound weird but what could we do after the ceremony instead of a reception since we can't really have one. I would love to be able to wear my wedding dress longer than 15 minutes!

Aw, I think a private ceremony would be uber romantic :)One note though, beaches on hawaii are all considered public so there could be other people there.  However, there are always beaches that are a little bit less frequented.  There are some WCs that offer smaller packages so you don't have to worry about a thing.  But it's also very doable to do this on your own :)

Go to a lu'au! I've heard good things about the Lahaina Lu'au and I know a lot of girls on the board have been.

Like pp suggested, afterward go to the Old Lahaina Luau! I've heard great things about it and am going to go during my wedding week with our guests. I think its the perfect "reception" and you will be able to wear your dress for a few hours more!

Hi!  The luau sounds like a lot of fun...I've also seen hotels that offer candlelit dinners on the beach for two...can't think of any off the top of my head but if you want to splurge, I'm thinking places like the Four Seasons or some of the other upscale hotels do something like that. GL!

The Westin offers a private sunset dinner.  Also the Sheraton does a private dinner under the stars.  For both of these, you're in your own area with your own waiter.  It's not even part of a restaurant but an outdoor area they have.  Only you and your fiance will be there.  They can customize a menu for you.  Another option is to do a private dinner on a beach.  I've seen a site that will have a personal chef cook for you while you eat on a beach.
