Poll: Lips and LipStick

Hey all...so, what are you all doing for your "lipstick" for the wedding. Here is my problem...I am a natural make up kind of gal and I dont like lip-stick. I usually wear like a light pink/nude gloss but everyone tells me that "I need to wear lipstick for pictures". Do I? What are you guys doing? Any advice on good nude lipstick? Do I have to wear lipstick??What is everyone else doing?

I think you should wear what you want to wear!  You certainly don't have to have lipstick on.  If you feel comfortable in nude gloss go with that.  You don't want to look at the pictures later and say oh I wish I hadn't worn lipstick cause it is not me.

Nah, you don't "need" to wear lipstick...I think whatever you've got on in your profile picture looks pretty. You don't want to look unnatural for your wedding pics, so do what YOU want to do!

I never wear lipstick either, just lipgloss that has pink or brown undertones. I plan to do the same for the wedding. I think its best to go for an "enhanced natural look"

yeah i haaaaate lipstick! i always wear either chapstick or a pale pink lipgloss. I think FI would hate lipstick too because he wouldn't be able to kiss me as much! I'd wear what you want to wear

I want to have a "soft" look, and from my experience, I definitely need lipstick in pictures, otherwise I look really washed out.  For engagement pics, I had makeup professionally done & thought it looked pretty heavy at the time, but not in the pictures... (below).  For the wedding, I am wearing Mac "Brick-o-la", which is a pretty, natural rose color, with a touch of pink gloss (Mac Lipglass - Nymphette) in center...  stays on really well!  Take some pics w both looks & see what you like!  you're such a beautiful girl, whatever you do will be gorgeous!

Freckletone by MAC it is a natural peach, looks pretty nude.I would use this color and add a coat of tinted lipglass by MAC in florabundance or dazzleglass in smile.This will just enhance your lips without looking overdone and give you a lil tint of color for your pics. I would even just put the gloss in the center of your bottom lip to give it a little shine.Or if you are more of a sephora girl Nars has a gorgeous lip gloss called Giza or orgasm.I have full lips so my whole lipstick drawer is made up of pinks/nude/light coral colors.I think you would look gorgeous in peach, golds on your lid and soft taupe in your crease. Peachy cheeks and natural lips for your wedding day maybe a soft smokey brown liner. You are gonna be a gorgeous bride.That is just my two cents, it can be done where you look super natural.

Wow Sophia, you are really in the know when it comes to makeup! You should be a makeup artist! I just have to say that i LOVE the Giza lipgloss by Nars. The color is perfect!

I don't usually wear makeup.. unless I'm going out.  But I went with makeup and lipstick and gloss for the weddign anyways.   I know that my lips tend to look pale in pictures though.... There are definitely options with lipstick/gloss that will still look natural.Are you wearing any other makeup?  Are you doing a trial?  Maybe when you do your trial, you can take some pics without lipstick and see if you think you look washed out or pale.

I would have to say go with what you're comfortable with. If you've got pink or nude gloss in your siggie pic, then it'll look fabulous on you even on your wedding day. I personally like darker lipcolors otherwise I feel like you can't see my lips at all. And FI loves that I wear lip color - I tried a week with some clear glosses and he actually asked what happened.But go with what makes you most happy!

I didn't wear much, and frankly I think my pics look pretty darn awesome. So... don't do anything you don't want to do!

Heehee... I don't wear make-up on a daily basis but lipstick is my only crutch!  My lips are pale and without some form of color/lipstick, people always ask me if I'm feeling sick.  Haha!  Anyways, you should definitely go with what you're comfortable with.  I wore the lipstick that I wear everyday.  MH always said he wanted me to look like me on our wedding day so I went with a very natural (but made-up) look.

i agree that nudes and light pinks look best for wedddings...unless you're going for an edgier look...I'm a lipgloss girl myself, but they don't last nearly as long worn alone as it does worn over lipstick.. And during a wedding , you do a lot of smooching, so a long-lasting formula is a must so you always look camera-ready... or just bring a tube of lipgloss with you so you can reapply...

I also think that you should do what you feel comfortable with .. you look beautiful with your natural-lips look also, you would want to feel like "yourself" on the big day!!!

I usually wear a cranberry color, but my MUA put on a lighter pink on me, and I actually liked it!

Awe thanks guys!! You helped a lot! I am going to try some of your tips and just stay the way I want I have never disliked myself in pictures, so its not like a wedding camera will change my lips! Thanks for all your advice!!
