Question about Veils...

Ladies sounds like a stupid question...but I seriously have no clue. Where should I buy my veil from? Do I go back to the wedding gown shop that I bought my dress from? My dress should be finished in about 3-4 weeks. Where did you get your veils from? Thanks.

I forgot to mention that I am not sure if I want a veil as FI and I are getting married on a golf course right on the beach...it will probably be windy. Do you have any other ideas or suggestions for me?

Most shops seem really expensive so a lot of girls get their veils from ebay or Occansey Designs. I actually had a veil that I decided not to use because of the wind factor. It can make for some gorgeous pictures, but it can also be a huge bummer.

etsy, ebay, or you can make your own. I hear you can make your own with a pattern from Michael's.

I agree on the hassle thing. I wanted to have a veil at first but after talking to LOTS of brides, I decided not to, because of the wind and I heard if you are even a little sticky (from sweat or whatever) the veil material sticks to you! NO THANKS!!! If you are really wanting a veil you could do a bird cage veil or something like that. But if you still decide to do a veil I found some really well priced veils on ebay, because mast bridal shops mark them up hugely!!! That's my 2 cents!

I originally was going to get from my dress shop, but then decided just to wear hair flowers instead.

a friend of mine (and a couple of her friends) bought the veil from here: http://www.sewdeb.com/veils.html disregard the SUPER old school website, but she said it was well worth the price and the lady's work is amazing. she also recommended i get the silk tulle. apparently it's much lighter and softer?

Definitely try to buy online or make one yourself to save costs.  There are lots of DIY tutorials online.I had a veil but also opted not to use it during the ceremony for 2 reasons:1) wind2) the one i had had a large comb and i didnt want to mess up my hair when i took out the veil during receptionI did use the veil for pictures though.  One of my favorite pics is when Shawn told us to put the veil over both our heads.  You can check out that pic by going to Shawn's site.  www.shawnstarr.com We are one of the couples he features :)
