Hawaii

Flower Girl Question

Ok so I am getting married on a public beach and my WC has informed me that we cannot have flowers placed on the beach by the flower girl (not because the state of Hawaii says no but because the WC doesn't want to pick them up). We have to leave the beach exactly how we found it meaning that leaving flower petals would not be "how we found it". So I was thinking I could do colored sand for her to throw out but I am not really sure of the logistics of a 3 year old being able to dole out sand. Or I thought possibly using shells as those are natural on the beach and the sand we could just swish around to get rid of the colors. Do any of you have ideas on this for me??? I need help!!!!

There's about 30-40 people who will all be standing during out brief beach ceremony and I am going to have my flower girls hand guests single stemmed flowers (obviously they wont be able to hand one to every single person). My aunt had me do that at her wedding when I was little and I found it to be really personal and sweet. I think it's such a cute way for them to interact and feel special in their role. I too had to think of an alternative for the same reason. I'm looking forward to seeing other replys and ideas for your post:)

I don't know how important it is for you and the flower petals but if you want that then you should definitely do it! That is ridiculous that your coordinator wouldn't allow it because she doesn't want to pick it up. Her job is to be there to help you make your day perfect. If anything I'm sure your guests wouldn't mind picking them up after the wedding for you. I know after our wedding all the kids loved picking up the petals and rethrowing them at each other. I'm sure if you make it a game for them they'll be happy to clean up the beach for you haha. Point is... don't let your coordinator tell you what you can or can't do based on their convenience. They are working for you not the other way around!
