Catching Up...the President??

Ok, you guys, I'm so confused but totally amused!  I was just catching up on the posts and saw the one about inviting the President.  So wait, people do this??  For real?  That is so awesome!  I totally want to!Am I the only one who has never heard of this tradition????  And you get an acknowledment from him (his staff) in return??It looks like everyone has been uber-productive this past week with DIYs and other checks off the list.  I'm so impressed and feel like I'm completely slacking!  (as also demonstrated by my lack of knotting...so sad)

Oh, haha, on another note, I just noticed it's 9 months till our wedding--I better not get preggers NOW!  lol Oh, wait, maybe I shouldn't "lol" that...it would not be funny!

Liz - I love that you just said that! Two months before the wedding, I was like "well, at least if I get knocked up, the dress will still fit".

Liz, quit slacking!!! J/k. But you should definitely invite the President! You supposedly get a cool letter back from his office congratulating you

Hey Liz,   I definitely think you should give it a try, but I invited the President...twice! and no response yet!  I sent him an invite when I sent out my invites (I think it was January).  When I didn't get a response & the wedding had past, I sent another invite.  Still no response.    I saw you could fax an invite as well, so I might give that a try too!  I just think it would be a great keepsake.  The website said to give up to 6 weeks for a response, but it has been well over 6 months since the original invite was since.  At first, when I never received his "regrets", I thought maybe he & Michelle were going to show up at the wedding!!
