Maui Blanc wine?

Has anyone tried this wine before? Is it good? I see that they sell it at Tedeschi Vineyards (and I'm sure everywhere else on the island) and its described as "A soft, semi-dry wine made from the juice of Maui grown pineapples. Its pineapple flavor is subtle with a lingering finish. This wine can be served for all occasions and is a great compliment to Pacific Rim cuisine." Wondering whether it would be cool to serve this at the wedding reception? Or maybe better to stick with what we know. Thoughts?

Erm... okay, so our guests who don't drink a lot of wine LOVED it (we had it at our welcome BBQ), but those who do really know their stuff were kinda "bleh". It is quite sweet! I feel like it's more of a dessert wine than a dinner wine.

You should try it first.  They sell it at BevMo :)  We discovered that after we bought 12 different bottles wine back from Tedeschi Winery (BevMo only has 2 of their wines though; both white/dessert).  Its good, but like Alyson said, not very complex, more of dessert wine.  It would be too sweet to serve along side a Pacific Rim meal.

Maui Blanc is a nice refreshing white wine but yeah... it's a little too sweet to be served with dinner.  If you want to incorporate some local Maui wines, we served the Maui Splash! during the cocktail hour and the Rose Ranch Cuvee for the Champagne toast. BTW, if you have the budget and really want to treat your guests (or just your WP like we did - we had our own "cocktail hour" while the rest of our guests were at the Westin) mix about half a shot of the Framboise de Maui into a glass of the Rose Ranch Cuvee.  Mmmmmm.... It was the best "sparkling wine" I've ever tasted.  We drove all the way up to Ulupalakua Ranch and Nani introduced us to this mixture.  Oh! Soooo good!  But the Framboise is pretty expensive, $40/bottle.  She did say, though that we would only need 1 bottle of the Framboise for every 6 bottles of the Cuvee.  I'm not sure how many botttles we used/needed since our WC at the Hyatt took care of this for us.  If you have any questions, you can always call Nani at Tedeschi and ask for the specific mixing portions.  :)
