AHHH! Reverend cancelled!

Alice Inoue can't officiate our wedding due to "unavoidable circumstances" , so she suggested Rev. Cynthia Smoot in her place...anyone worked with her??I am so bummed. Any other suggestions for officiants (non-denominational), I truly appreciate it...I am just freaking out that I won't find anyone we like this close to the wedding!

I really wanted Alice at first also. I did the full request thing on her website, but I didn't hear from her. I did do the request before the 4-month mark, though, so maybe that is why. I've since requested Kahu Bruce (after seeing LilSwtAzyn's vendor reviews). He got back to me pretty quickly by email, and I talked to him briefly on Saturday, and then he tried calling me back Sunday, so I've been really happy with how easy communication has been. His email is kahupuluke@aol.com. He is soooo nice. I haven't received his ceremony information yet, so I don't know much beyond that he is soooo nice. Ha ha.

I don't have anything to offer but positive vibes. Is it terrible that I think the name Smoot is hilarious though?

I know Kahu Bruce is very popular with the HI knotties, but I wanted someone more traditional in their ceremonies... But he is also recommended by Rev.Alice.kaesha- i thought the same thing...Smoot. hehe.. I hope she works out, I thought i had this whole thing taken care of and now we're back where we started..ugh.

Kahu bruce is awesome. He did our wedding in Aug and it was beautiful. He's so friendly and can tailor your wedding to however you wanted. We had him do a hawaiian chant spiritual type wedding.

Oh no! Hang in there, it will work out!! Here is my minister info: I am using Heidi Alfrey...she is non-denominational and works with you to get just what you want. She is so amazing and kind and sweet to work with...plus, I think there is something beautiful about being married by a woman, but thats just me and my inner hippy coming out, haha!! Here is her web-site (if it doesnt work you can just google her name and its the first website to come up) http://mauiweddingminister.com

thanks ladies... i still haven't heard from Cynthia, so I also contacted Rev. Mel Morishige... They're both able to customize vows and ceremonies...It's tough since I'm  Catholic and he's non-denominational, so I don't want to offend my parents by going way to far out there with a traditional Hawaiian ceremony.... Neither of us are really religious, but we did want something spiritual and meaningful... Wish me luck that we find someone we like in the short amount of time :)

Hi Hannah!  I highly recommend our Minister (who also did kwippy's wedding).  His name is Greig Porter (I call him "Pastor Porter").  He such a warm person and our families absolutely love him.I grew up in a Christian church, but don't go anymore.  DH never went to church.  We wanted a non-denominational, religious wedding and Pastor Porter delivered. He actually launched a new website recently called "Hookipa Weddings".  Here's his info:Ph: 808-753-2237e-mail: info [at] hookipawedding [dot] comwebsite: http://www.hookipawedding.comHTH and let me know if you have any questions about Pastor Porter!

Oh, I should mention that our wedding was not Hawaiian in any way, shape or form.  It was quite traditional. Also, as you might notice from his website, Pastor Porter specializes in Japanese weddings, but he does English weddings, too.  :)

Hey hang in there, I hope it works out. THe last thing you need now is this stress so lots of positive vibes coming your way.The lady doing our ceremony is hawaiian so it is very traditional hawaiian. She is working with us to fit in alot of our spitirual beliefs but we also wanted a very hawaiian ceremony.Good luck with it all..
