Hair and Make up help!

Hello lovely ladies!I need some help.  I'm working with Deanne @ PMW.  I added the hair and makeup service to our package.  I had asked for sample's of the stylists work.  Deanne directed me to PMW website.  Honestly, from what I saw; I'm not all that confident that this person will be good enough to meet my standards.  I've asked again for pictures of brides, but was told that the stylist can do anything just bring a picture.  I need to find someone that has used Precious Maui Weddings stylist for more information.  I want to know asap so that I can make alternate arrangements.TIA

do you know who the stylist is?  That is really odd that she won't tell you who she uses or give you a couple different options. If we knew who she was using we could probably help you out more by offering suggestions or pointing you towards bios of brides that have used the same person.There was a post last week on Maui hair and make up services (I think it's still on the first page of the board).  Check it out and maybe you could ask Deanne about specific H&M people you are interested in.

I don't want to be a downer, but I have heard from from another Hawaii bride that they had a horrible experience with PMW, we were actually going to use them and switched because of the horrible time the bride had with PMW. I would say that it is really odd that she won't give you examples.......I would keep an eye out for other red flags......

Thanks ladies!Tifani, Really??? This is the first I heard anything negative about PMW.  Do you remember who the bride was?I just called an left a message voicing my concerns and that if this person isn't up to my standards, then I want to hire someone else and apply the $$ allocated for the Hair/makeup towards a cake and/or bouquet upgrade.Deanne has been very responsive thus far. I'm not sure if there's some misunderstanding about what I'm asking.  That's why I picked up the phone.  As for finding a alernate WC; I've already sent a 50% deposit.

It's actually another Oregon bride that I met here. She is not on the knot and she was just asking who I was thinking about using for a WC (this was like 5 months ago) and I told her PMW, because Deanne was AMAZINGLY fast at getting back to me and answering questions. She stopped me right there and said DO NOT go with PMW. She said that everything went fine until they got to Maui and then no one was anywhere to be found and they provided no help. Now this is just one bride who said this but it was enough for me to switch, I just didn't want to take any chances and I hadn't locked anyone in yet. Hopefully, it will all work out and it will not happen to you, I would just be very very sure you print out all emails to and from them with all the details included and go over the details over and over again. I mean i would even let Deanne know what I have told you and ask her if she can explain and help to ease your concern for your wedding. I hope that she gets back to you with H&M stuff, but keep me updated and let me know how it goes. I decided to go with Maui'd Forever as my WC. but again that is just one bride I talked to, not 100!

Update: I had a great conversation with Deanne today!  We talked about the different stylists she's worked with.  There's one named Liz that many of her brides have been raving about.  Unfortunately, Liz dosen't have a website.  However, Deanne is going to ask her for some pics of her work.  I told Deanne that I won't be comfortable until I see her work.  Otherwise, I'll be making my own arrangements.Deanne also told me all the vendors she has booked so far - I'm so excited!  She's sending me a package with all the information.I'll keep you posted on the Stylist dilemma.
