Opinion Poll on Fans

Hello Knotties!! I was thinking about having sandalwood fans available on the ceremony chairs. We would only need 50, and it's not so much for fanning, but for shade since during the ceremony the sun will be in everyone's faces. It has been mentioned to me that they don't get used, so it might be a waste of money. 1. Are you/Did you provide fans for your ceremony if it was held outside? 2. Did people use them? Were they appreciated? 3. In your opinion, was it worth it to buy them? I am on the fence deciding about it right now. Thanks for your input!!

We were going to do this, but the stupid fan places are all out of our colore until 2010, I think that even if they don't use them during your ceremony, people can still take them as souvenirs....I say go for it if the budget allows it, I mean I wouldn't skimp on something else just for them but if you have the $$ do it!

    1. Are you/Did you provide fans for your ceremony if it was held outside? we did have fans for everyone at the ceremony (it was inside an open, but un-airconditioned church).2. Did people use them? Were they appreciated? VERY...everyone used them at the church & took them to the reception where they used them there too.  Plus I think everyone liked the extra favor. 3. In your opinion, was it worth it to buy them?DEFINITELY...I got them more for decoration, but was very glad I had them b/c it was HOT!I ordered natural fans from asianideas.com & wrapped the handles with ribbon that matched my bridesmaid dresses.  (check out my married bio under "Little Details")

Hey Beth!  I would definitely provide something your guests can use to shield their faces from the sun.  A lot of people used them during my SIL's wedding.  And if they choose to take the fans home as decorative souvenirs, that's even better.  Even if they don't, it's okay because your guests will definitely appreciate the option to use them during the ceremony!  :)

    1. Are you/Did you provide fans for your ceremony if it was held outside? Yes we did.  We bought the personalized sandalwood fans (from TK) and DIY'd the other half using leftover orange metallic paper from our invites.  PIB 2. Did people use them? Were they appreciated? Everyone used them and were so thankful that we had them.  If they weren't fanning themselves with it they were using it for shade.  My bridesmaids LOVED them (I gave each of them one of the personalized sandalwood ones) and were using them throughout the night. 3. In your opinion, was it worth it to buy them? Absolutely!  Not necessarily to buy them but at least to provide them!If you don't have the budget for them I suggest you DIY them.  Really easy to do with cardstock and jumbo popsicle sticks.

    1. Are you/Did you provide fans for your ceremony if it was held outside? yes, we had the woven grass ones.  Our ceremony was outside2. Did people use them? Were they appreciated? most of the women used them - especially after the ceremony (morning wedding) when we were just taking pictures. 3. In your opinion, was it worth it to buy them? I was happy we had them - if I had a bigger guest list I would probably still provide them but not worry about having on for each guest. I am on the fence deciding about it right now. Thanks for your input!!
