HELP! Need feedback on invites (PIB)

I did some mock-up invitations and need some feedback on which you like better.  Any suggestions are appreciated as well.  TIA!The pictures are in my bio:http://jaymers99.weebly.com/paper.html

They are both really nice but I like the 2nd one better.  It's simple and very nice.  I guess the only thing about the first one is that it looks a little busy with the blk/white print.  But both are nice! Well done!!

I'm feeling the second one more too. I think it's because damask feels so formal whereas the other one feels more fun and tropical. I do like the extra border though in the first one - it frames the text nicely. Maybe you could consider doing something like that in the second?

I like the second one best. Like Kaesha said, the first one seems very formal, but I do like the thick border in the first one.

i like the first one better, but I do agree it is more formal & less tropical.  What is the feel you are going for for the wedding?  formal or laid back tropical?  I think the invitation should reflect what you are going to do for the rest of the wedding.  :)

I like the second one better for a destination wedding. Great job on both of those, they look amazing!

I like the second one better, I agree it is more DW-ish.  I also like the brown envelopment rather than the purple better, I like the as the accent inside. But black damask border in the first one is really pretty too!  It might not go with the orchid on the 2nd one if you frame it around the 2nd invite, but maybe you can still keep some of the black damask somewhere within the invitation package, but turn it into brown damask instead? Both are really pretty, great job!!

I prefer the 2nd one. I think it's cheerier and has more personality. Damask is really popular these days, but I don't think it says a lot about the event itself.

I really like the first one! But if you wedding is more casual the second one. And it matches more with the map.

Impressed that you made these!! I like the second one also because it has more of a tropical feel.

great job on these jamie! my vote's for the second :) i like damask, but it doesn't seem to match the map insert...

thanks for the input, everyone!  it's not a destination wedding for me, so i'm not necessarily going for a tropical theme, but i'm planning on using orchids as my bouquet and centerpieces.  given that, maybe #2 is better...and you're right about it matching the map better.  something about #1 keeps pulling me back, though!  argh!!!  i'm having so much trouble with this decision because they are so different and i think it will set the theme for the whole wedding!

That is a hard decision, they are both beautiful in different ways. I know what you mean about setting the tone for the rest of the wedding, that's how I felt! I initially tried to fit all by ideas and images into the invitations, but then realized it would be too much. So I'm sort of spreading them out - some of my ideas will be used on our menus, some on our wedding programs, some on the dessert table....since you seem to like two different styles, maybe you could incorporate one or the other into other parts of your wedding? With that said, I think they are both beautiful and you should go with the one you keep gravitating towards!

I'm going to go against the grain and say that I really like the first one!  I love the purple for the cover and I really like the way the damask pops against it.  If you wanted you could probably even incorporate a "more elegant" orchid onto the invitation.  As for the map, maybe you could just change the text font to match the one on the invitation panel??? BUT, I would only go with the first invitation if you can or plan to also incorporate the damask into your decor at the wedding (which I think could have the potential to look really cool!  I saw a previous non-HI knottie's married bio that did this but their bio disappeased!)

I like #1. It gives off a fun vibe! Plus I'm partial to purple :)

My vote is on number 1! I like the damask pattern around the edges. If you were to combine parts of it, maybe you could add the purple orchid (or a 2-3 of them) to it, but much smaller for your separation between the names and the rest of the invitation text instead of the little symbol that's there right now. But either way, both are beautiful invitations.

I really like #1! The black against the purple looks really nice. Great job Jamie!!

It's tough, because they both look great. I think I like #1 a little more. The map might need a little tweaking if you pick 1 so that they flow together, but the map is great. Awesome DIY project!
