Maui Rentals (tables/chairs/linens)?

Hi Ladies, I've stopped by here before WAAAAAY back when I first got engaged... quick intro: my name is Vanessa, living in Honolulu, but getting married on Maui in July 2010. Ironically, I grew up on Maui but have no idea how to find chair rentals! I've looked up the few that I found from bridal expos here in Honolulu and Maui, but they are sooo expensive! I know that you wonderful ladies have probably done a lot more planning than i have and was hoping you could share some recommendations (positive or negative) for chair and linen rentals. Also, I'm getting married at the Westin in Kaanapali but I'm not really feeling the standard chairs that come with the ceremony and reception sites. Thanks in advance!

Hey Vanessa!  If you're getting married at the Westin they should already be providing the tables linens and chairs.  If you don't like their standard chairs, I would ask your WC about upgrades.  I thought their prices were fairly reasonable/comprable to other places I got quoted from.  They even have chivari chairs you could rent/upgrade to.  As for linens, I couldn't help you since we brought in our own table covers.  I could be wrong but I remember hearing that table linens are expensive 'cause they usually have to order/rent them from somewhere else and have them shipped to Hawaii.  But hopefully some of the other girls can chime in here and give you some good rec's!

thanks for the reply! The Westin does have chairs I can upgrade to, but at $15 a chair, that would cost me an extra $1500 I really don't have.  but then again, if that's reasonable compared to other places, then I can live with the standard one =) thanks again!

Have you contacted Pacific Isle Rentals? Chivari chairs with cushions are $10.00 each. However, will the Westin allow you to bring in your own vendors? They usually want a cut which is why they markup the price. HTH! J. :-)

In speaking to my WC from the Westin, I was kind of under the impression that if they didn't have what I was looking for, they were a little more lenient with outside vendors.  Their chivari chairs have a gold-ish tint to them & I was adamant about having white chairs so she said she could look around or that I could.  We ended up with their $5.50/chair upgrade.  And I only did it 'cause I needed to hang my orange chair beads on all the guest chairs and I wasn't sure they would hang on their standard ones.  Kristine was amazing to work with.  If something was out of my budget, she always looked into more cost-effective options for me.  Talk to your WC there and she what your other options are.

thanks! my friend just gave me the link to pacific isle rentals. I'm working with Kristine at the westin too! I'll ask her about the upgrades for $5.50.  I was under the impression that the chivalri chairs were $15, i wasn't aware of the upgrade option.  doesn't hurt to ask though right?  it's just when I asked her about chair options, that's all she gave me.  I guess I wasn't asking the right question.  thanks so much!

Hi Vanessa,I worked with Pacific Isle Rentals for our linen rentals.  Their quotes were about the same as the other rental company in Maui, but Heather is super nice and she was great at getting back to me.   You should give her a call or send her an email for prices.   I especially liked the fact that she worked with us to stay within our budget and recommended cheaper alternatives (i.e. table overlay rather than a full tablecloth).
