Weekend! (Long)

My weekend was packed with drama and projects!Friday night was full of dress drama. My MOH and FSIL came over to try on their dresses for the wedding. FSIL's dress was a little too big, but that can be easily altered. Not too shabby. MOH then tried her dress on and it was all sorts of wrong! Too short, too small in the bust - we couldn't even zip it up! I was so sad and kinda irritated because it has been so hard working with my seamstress since she is on the mainland. Luckily we found a seamstress here that can save it, and my mainland seamstress is sending us more fabric so it's getting taken care of.As for my dress it fits (hooray!), but I think I am going to forgo the lace jacket. (Sad face!!) I'm just not feeling it with the dress. It's kinda stuffy, hot and makes me look matronly. I tols my mom and she was kinda disspointed, but I want to be comfortable on my wedding day. So I think I will wear the jacket to the rehearsal instead. Since my dress is kinda plain now, FI's cousin is going to make me a large, purple, statment necklace to bring some style to my new look. I'm excited to see what she comes up with. The rest of the weekend was packed with putting our guestbook together, figuring out what we are going to do for table numbers, and gathering materials for our favors. I would go into more detail, but I think I have wasted enought of your time! Haha! Plus, I'm gathering all the pics so I can post on my projects later :PHow was everyone else's weekend?

Well, it sounds like everything is coming together! When are we going to see pics of everything?

Whew, thank goodness it all turned out ok. When I got my dress it was a lot wrong too, but I too, found a great seamstress(I don't think people know how amazing it is to have a GREAT seamstress) to fix my dress!!! My weekend was good, just went to a reception which made me super anxious to get to Hawaii for MY wedding!!!! Glad it all worked out, can't wait to see pics!

sounds like a packed weekend!  I want to see the BM dresses and your lace jacket too!  And the purple necklace when it's done. Were the BM dresses made by the seamstress or just altered by her?  I can't remember if we've seen your dress either.  I'm going to go look at your bio as soon as I finish writing this. As for me, my weekend was good!  I worked out for the first time since the triathlon, which was a big relief; not working out for 6 days was making me worry that I was going to lose all my running endurance.  DH and I sort of did a brick; I ran 3 miles and then swam 700 meters. Looking forward to seeing how everything progresses with you!

oh, you look adorable in your dress!  Very simple and classic, love it.  And I think you're right about your decision not to wear the lace jacket at the ceremony or reception.  I lurves the rhinstone buckle thing on the belt of the lace jacket!  It's beautiful. You must be so excited as everything comes together!

Kaesha - Hopefully I will get all the pics up this week. I was trying for this weekend, but I ran out of time :)tifani27 - That reception must have been such a tease for you! At least you only have about a month to go!mauidandy - Yes! It was a huge relief that my dress fit!jujubee96 - All the dresses were custom made by the mainland seamstress. I think she mixed up some of the measurements for the girls, which is why one dress came out too small and the other too large. Oh well, that's just a risk you take and at least it can be fixed.I'm also jealous of your endurance! I'm getting back into my exercise routine and it's so hard for me right now! I am so out of shape!

Hey Janine! Glad to hear the BM dress drama is fixable. I love you in your dress without the jacket (although I think the jacket itself is absolutely adorable). Have you thought about adding a belt to your dress? I have belts on the brain right now. I don't think your dress needs it (and looks great without it), but the thing that I liked about the jacket was that it really accentuated how tiny your waist is right where it fastened. There are some great shops on etsy that sell lovely belts. I'm hoping my dress will need one, because they are so darn cute. Looking forward to the project PIPs.

First, I have looked at your bio before but somehow missed your pup?!?  Wolfgang Rampage N is super duper (I really wanted to use another word) adorable.   I actually love your dress without the jacket.  The jacket is super cute, but I think it is a little stuffy.  I think your dress is more flattering without it - you can see your figure more.  The purple necklace is a great idea - love your shoes too.  How exciting - it seems like everything is definitely coming together for you.  On my end I tried my dress on, scheduled my e-pics with Frank =) and am finishing up folding my cranes - again... whole other story.

Kellie - I did consider a belt actually. But then I thought having a belt and the necklace, along with my mantilla veil might compete with each other too much. Beth - Yeah, Wolfgang is a cutie. Though he can be trouble sometimes! But I can't stay mad at him too long with that face! BTW - I am so happy I dodged that crane stuff! Lucky for me it wasn't a big thing with FI's family, and I had never heard of it before, so I decided not to do it. Are you making all of yours by hand? How are you going to display them?

Janine - Yes, I am folding all the cranes by hand.  FI family is very Japanese =)  I had to redo some because originally my FMIL was going to mount them, but she has a lot going on.  We are paying someone to mount them for us into a picture: cranes flying with bamboo and koi and then we are also going to have his family crest and the kanji for his last name.  It sounds like a lot but it all has meaning to us - I'll post pics once we finally have it done!  I forgot to tell you in my previous post - I love your veil!
