Dyeing a dress???

Hey Ladies!I found a dress that I like for my one maid of honor but it is polyester chiffon fabric, does anyone know about being able to dye this? In Albuquerque, there aren't a lot of store options for this. Does anyone anywhere done this before? I am willing to ship it somewhere  but it is currently a light yellow and I need to dye it green. Any help is much appericated!! HELP!!

There are some poly-blend dyes but I am not sure about chiffon. I would try googling "dye polyester chiffon" and see what comes up and then maybe call the company to get more info about how to do it and what the chances are that it will work. HTH!

I looked up the same thing before - the internet will tell you that you can dye silk chiffon, but not polyester chiffon.  Sorry!  Hope you find different results.

you can probably find someone to do it but you might have to sign something that it might not come out exact. if she is a MOH a slightly darker color or lighter color than the rest of the girls might be fitting anyways!

Its really hard to dye polyester, since it is synthetic.  If you really need it done, I would recommend a professional dyer.  If you don't have options in Albuquerque, try checking out dye houses in Los Angeles..we have a lot that cater to the film industry...great but pricey.  If you love the cut of the dress but want it in the green, it might be actually cheaper to have in knocked off by a local seamstress than trying to have it dyed.  Good luck!
