Flowers - Ginger plant

So... I'm starting to think about flowers and I really want the most tropical I can find. My favorite - the Ginger plant:http://cartersflorist.com/shop/skshop_images/products/thumbnails/cc285.jpgI don't like how tall this one is but I love the green foliage and the hot pink (my colors are hot pink, orange, and yellow) Have you used any tropical plants? Any one have any experience with the ginger plant? Are they expensive? Cheap? Pain?

umm.. i know they are kinda spendy.. i don't really remember how much though 5 dollars per stem? I thought of doing the tropical centerpieces also... the picture you have looks great. And definitely DIY!!! I'm sure you could put all that together for less than $30

I wish I could do DIY flowers! I don't have the time or space to do flower DIY, But i figured if I only had two stems per centerpiece that might only cost $10 for the ginger plant and a bunch of foliage, which shouldn't be much compared to a complete floral centerpiece.... right? I hope!

I've been thinking about doing something like this:  http://www.stylemepretty.com/gallery/photo/cake-lava+2427 I'm not sure if it's too plain for you, but I like the simplicity of it (and hopefully, it's cheaper)!
