Freaking Out!

So I am getting married on 12.22.09 and I still don't have my invites out.  I finally gave up on trying to print them myself this week, couldn't find how to size them properly for the pre-cut paper.  I took them to a printer on Wednesday who quoted me $60 for 100 invites with RSVP cards.  He writes me an email tonight stating that the RSVP card is too small to feed through his printer (its 3.5 X 5) but he is willing to sell me cardstock that is "similar" and cut them after the printing.  What the hell do I do???? Do I go to another printer?Do I buy his cardstock that won't match perfectly? Please help.

Hi Amy -I hardly ever post, but feel your pain and wanted to offer some advice in case it might help.  I had the same problem, because I bought pre-cut cards (size A6) for reply cards to match my invites.  No one would print on them because they were worried about jamming their machines.  Were you trying to print from a Word document?  If so, go to "page setup..." under the File menu.  Under "paper size", scroll down to "manage custom sizes" and you can put the exact measurements of your paper.  I ended up being able to use my fiance's laser printer (not ideal, I know, but my inkjet didn't work).  I had to shove the cards in pretty hard, and usually by the 3rd try, they'd take.   Do you have enough extras to experiment?  (I also did lots of trial runs with regular paper to make sure the sizing was correct).Sorry for the long post, but it's probably important to you to use the paper you picked out (it was for me), so I wanted to give you ideas, just in case they work.  Good luck!

Wild Onion,Thanks for your reply.  I wish the paper companys would give you a heads up about this!  I feel slightly cheated.  Anyways, the document is a photoshop document that my brother designed.  He says the document is already 3.5 x 5 but when I open the document and print from my computer, it prints very tiny on the 3.5 by 5.  I tried going to page setups and putting in that specific size but for whatever reason, it just doesn't work.  I guess I will have to keep trying.

Oh i see, I was sooo there too did all the invites and rsvps myself too. Maybe try and open it from another computer. It took me almost 2 months of non stop working on ours. I would get so frustrated then take a break then the next time i came the answer came with it. Our biggest problem was the color from our inkjet which i ended up comprimising on and the font for the rsvp (which was more of a pain to do then the invites). Hang in there it will come to you.
