Do I HAVE to have a wedding band?

I really like the look of my engagement ring by its self, and I think adding a wedding band might make it look uneven. Do i have to have one or can I just use my e-ring? Thanks.

No way.....I feel the exact same way about my e-ring so I am not getting a wedding band!

I know lots of women who only have one ring - wedding band or e-ring. It's totally your decision.

i have a wedding band, but my wedding ring doesn't sit flush against it, so I doubt i will be wearing them together at all. I like my e-ring by itself too... it's totally up to you on what looks best :)

I like the way my ring looks on it's own too, but I wanted a wedding band. I actually just custom ordered mine today, since I couldn't find anything that matched. I kinda wished that FI chose an e-ring that was part of a set already, so the band would match perfectly. At least this way, I can wear them together or alone, depending on where I'll be going, or what I'll be doing. It definitely is up to you and how you feel. There's no set rule that says you must have a wedding band. Go with what you feel. BTW, I love your FI's name. I've always loved the name Jensen, because I LOVE Jensen Ackles!!! I think I'm going to name one of my sons Jensen, if I have more than one, because FI and I already have a name that has some sentimental value :) Sorry, that was totally off topic.

Thanks you guys. Some of my friends were making me feel bad that I didnt want a wedding band, saying that it's tradition, blah, blah... etc. But you're right, it is up to me!Maybe I can get one later if I ever do change my mind, but as for now, I'm just gonna stick with my e-ring. (Plus, that saves money.. money that I can use for other wedding things.. Hehe)And I LOVE my fiance's name too, but he hates it! lol.. He said when he was a kid people would call the the Jetsons. haha

I don't necessarily want a wedding band either but I am still getting one.  I am thinking about wearing the e ring on my right hand and the band on my left.  I get enough questions about when I am getting married because they can tell by just my one ring that I am not yet!  People are very observent and I guess I would just like to show that I am in fact married by having the two rings.

I am just going to get a diamond band, but like some of the other ladies I won't wear them together, like if we are doing something out doorsy where I don't want my diamond rind on then I will still at least have a band on ya know?!?!?

My E-ring has a band that splits and then comes back together, so it kind of looks like two rings. We agreed that I wouldn't get a wedding band to save money. I kind of wish I was getting one, just so I would have it for the wedding...when he slips it on my finger, sometimes I feel like it will feel weird since it's my engagement ring! But...I don't think you NEED to have one. It's a personal choice!

When we found the Tacori engagemnt ring at The Wedding Ring shop my FI didn't like the band it came with i didnt care so we tried other things. He loves sapphire so he asked if they had any bands wwith sapphire, they just happened to and it looked great except i didnt like just one so i actually have two one on each side to even it out. I think a lot of things are def up too you and what you like. Times have changed so much that new ideas are the thing.

I agree with pp that you don't HAVE to have a wedding band.  I felt the same way & didn't really want to change the look of my e-ring.  One of my friends didn't have a wedding band b/c her ring looked like it could be two rings, but she said it did bother her how people always think she is just engaged.  With that said, she still doesn't have a wedding band so it must not bother her too much.  B/c of her 2nd thoughts I got a simple diamond band & have grown to love my two rings together.

You can absolutely just have your e-ring. Sometimes a wedding band takes away from the e-ring. Anything goes now days...
