I'm sooooo disappointed! :( *little vent*

Well, I was supposed to be getting married on Feb. 20, 2010. So far we hadn't booked anything, although I know our venues are still open. However, the other night, my FI and I were going through our budget, and I just dont think it can happen right now. So we have scratched that date and are now looking more towards the ending of 2010. I feel so disappointed cause I had so much plans of how I wanted things done and I know I'm still going to be able to do them.. its just.. idk.. I feel a little sad.Well, atleast this gives me more time and I dont need to rush everything. Sorry about my little vent. I dont even know if it made sense. lol

Sooo sorry to hear that   One of my best friends recently had to do the same thing and push everything back a year. Budget issues suck. Although I kind of wish we could put ours off too and save up some more money, but we already made too many deposits. At least you'll get to keep having fun planning and you won't have to stress out as much about how you'll be able to afford everything! Keep your spirits up!

That's a bummer. A few more months won't hurt - and you only get to be engaged for a short period of time... I say enjoy that while it lasts. After all, you'll be married forever after that.

I think it's ok to feel sad. That's normal. You were looking forward to it. But weddings are spendy, and if I remember correctly you're local so yours would probably be even more spendy than for some of us coming from far away with small guest lists. It's smart to wait until you can afford it. Just keep putting money away each month, and you'll make it happen. Best of luck!

Sorry to hear that!  But I think both of you will feel better entering marriage in a better and sounder financial situation... it's so responsible of you guys, and I think that's great! Hope you start feeling better about it soon, sweetie.

I am sorry to hear that. I think everyone here has gone through the ups and downs with money. I can relate! During the planning of our wedding so many people around me lost there jobs. I was so worried that nobody would make it including me. LOLIt will work and you do NOT want to put a strain on your relationship because of this.Now you have more time to plan. Which usually means more time to research and bargain. Good luck!

Sorry to hear that, but look at it this way...at least you do have more time for DIY and really planning out what you envisioned. It's better to wait than to force it beyond your budget...that way you don't cut too many corners.I wish you lots of luck and happy planning...

Chin up...it's going to happen...just a few months later.  We pushed our wedding back from May to September.  I would LOVE to get married next year but i need to save more money and loose weight so i look HOT in my dress...lol.  No worries...enjoy the planning!!! J. :-)

Bummer that you have to push back the date, but you will be happier that you will have the proper funds to have the wedding the way you want! Now you will have more time to enjoy your engagement and planning and hanging out on this board! I have to admit that I'm a little sad that the wedding planning is coming to an end soon.

I can completely understand your disappointment. I've been engaged forever, and our tentative date kept getting pushed back. Now, I'm actually really grateful I had the extra time to plan and save. The end of 2010 will be here before you know it.
