Oahu Hair Dorys vs. Bev

Hey ladies...I need some more advice here... I have almost everything already booked or ordered for my May 2010 wedding. I am having a hard time trying to decide between Dorys Foltin and Makeup/Hair by Bev. I noticed alot of knotties have used Dorys but not alot have used Bev. I also was comparing their websites it looks like Bev is much cheaper then Dorys. Also it looks like Dorys you have to have a min of 250 dollars for her to come to you? Is that right? I only have two people to do hair my self and my MOH so... Has anyone booked either one of these two ladies? Why did you choose the one that you did? I need your help on choosing!!!! A little background on what I am looking for... I want an updo but a low to medium up do.. I will have flowers in my hair and a veil on the bottom of the hair not to go over my face. I appericate an input that you wonderful ladies may have on this. Or if you have someone else to recommend I am open to new suggestions. Thank you!!! Have a great day!

I don't have any feedback on Dory, but I love Bev.  I wasn't able to use her for my wedding, but I was in a wedding last year and Bev did all our H&M.  Our make up stayed all night, including the lipstick - our hair was great and did not come out at all - the bride looked incredibly gorgeous.  If Bev is cheaper and available, you can't go wrong.  She is terrific - nice, professional, and does great work.

I went with Dorys Foltin for my wedding day h&m, and I was very pleased. Her assistant also did h&m for my mother and my (2) BM's.  We awere all very happy with the outcome.  My h&m lasted all night.   She is a bit on the expensive side compared to some others, and she does require a minimum for her to come out to you.  I based my decision, mainly on the reviews I read here on the Knot.

Hi!No info on Bev.But Dorys is great.  She may have a minimum - not sure.I had 2 BM, 1 MOH, myself - so the total would have been above the minimum.  However for hair and makeup for you and BM, with airbrush and eyelashes you will likely make the minimum.  She does have a travel fee depending on the location and no travel fee of locations closer to town. Her makeup lasted really well, as did the hair.  The hair did not look prom-like, and ask she likes to say, "More of an editorial look."  The hair and makeup was pretty, elegant, and sophisticated.  I also have mono-lids - notoriously hard to place makeup - so impressed by how she made my eyes pop.  Definately worth the little extra money - you are spending so much on the reception, dress, photography -> why skimp on your face...you want to look great all night.Hope this helps.
