Hawaii

waikiki hotel help please!!

Hello! FI and I are coming to Hawaii in a little over a month - just the two of us for our wedding/honeymoon for a week. I am freaking out a little on the hotel. Currently our reservation is with the Aqua Wave Waikiki but I am considering switching to the Aqua Palms & Spa for little better ammenties, mainly breakfast & pool. This is where our price range fell for our budget. We are "get out and do things" people so we won't be in our rooms for much more than to retire to at night and to take a break between activities. Could anyone that is from the area or that has stayed at either hotel please post any kind of reviews - good or bad? Thanks in advance!!

I've never stayed in the hotel, but I have heard good things about the Aqua hotel chain. Also, my advice is stay in whatever is your budget. You won't be in you room enough for it to matter. So I always go with what I can afford, and spend the money on fun stuff like activities and mai tai's =) Have fun!!

I can not fault the Aqua Waikiki Wave in anyway.I have stayed their twice on 2 trips to Hawaii.Great Location, International market place and a block to the beach. Great helpful staff. The lower floors can be a little noisy at night but didn't bother us.We will be staying here again for 7 nights during our wedding. The major plus is the price! Cant go wrong for about 90 a night. The only downside would be no giant pool, but then again its a hotel and not a resort.I can highly recommend :)

I haven't stayed at Aqua Wave or Palms, but I stayed at Aqua Bamboo for part of my stay in Waikiki last week. It was good value for the money. I agree that it makes sense to save on hotel prices since there's so much to do. Bamboo has a nice salt water pool. The breakfast wasn't great compared with what they served at Hotel Renew, the other hotel I stayed at. I will say that Pete's mom paid $30 a night extra for a room with a kitchenette at Bamboo, and it was much nicer than ours. It had a huge balconey, was almost twice the size of our room, and the interior decor was a lot nicer. Not sure if they have those kind of rooms at the Aqua Wave, but it's something to consider.

I haven't been there, but Hotel Renew (i think happygolucky girl or someone may know about this hotel) is ranked #1 hotel in Oahu on tripadvisor last time I checked. I just got an email from them of an $124/night special they are having until 12/15. they are calling it their "barefoot special" - and the email said to look at their website for info. HTH!

oh, totally forgot that I have been to the Aqua - Palms and Spa. We liked the Palms and Spa. The breakfast is just free continental breakfast, but it was still nice. Palms and spa is right across the street from Hilton, and I loved the hilton beach because the water was so calm and the beach was empty the time we went (August).
