Looking for Hale Koa info

Hi everyone! I became engaged in August and recently moved to Oahu. My fiance is in the Navy and we recently started looking at the Hale Koa hotel as a possible site for ceremony and reception. We have an appointment in a week or so but I was hoping to find someone that may have had wedding experience there all ready. It seems nice, but I was wondering how involved the hotel is with each wedding or if it is just kind of cookie cutter. Any information is welcome. We are starting quite early in our planning (possible March 2011 if all goes well with sea tours...) so we have some time to try out different places. Thanks!

Welcome and congratulations on your engagement!  I am getting married at the Hale Koa...I have some information in my bio that you might find helpful.  Let me know if you have specific question and I'll do my best to help.  I haven't had my wedding yet, but I've been to a couple weddings there recently.

Hi,I'm also getting married at the Hale Koa next year.  I've been to 5 weddings at the Hale Koa and it has always been nice.  I think the service is really good.  The last wedding I went to at the Hale Koa on 10/25/09, the wait staff was really good and the bride didn't hire a coordinator and no DJ.  The banquet manager helped with controlling the playlist on the IPOD for the different activities and also controlled the lighting.  Personally, I am getting married there because I think you get the most bang for your buck for a hotel wedding.  It's not the most romantic hotel but both the ceremony site and banquet rooms are nice.  You can take a look at my bio for some pictures.
