I need wedding package help

Hi Girls, I am attempting to plan a fun July wedding for around 30 ppl. I am trying to get my head around the millions of wedding packages in Maui and wondering if anyone has some recommendations. Has anyone heard of Just Maui'd? everything about them sounds good but their website looks kinda crappy and very dated. my budget for the wedding and reception is 15,000 or less. Thanks :)

That budget is more than do-able, it is actually quite a lot. I am using Maui'd forever, but doing the smallest package and then I have just researched and booked everything else on my own, because I didn't want to pay someone to look thinkgs up on a computer. If you want an all inclusive package, I'm sure they have one, but with that budget you could have a totally awesome off the hook wedding if you just got a wedding coordinator and did stuff with him/her. If you want recs on WC's post on this board the girls are super nice and helpful!

If I were you, I'd start by trying to find a coordinator I want to work with. I suggest you check out the Hawaii knottie bio list here - http://community.theknot.com/cs/ks/user/default.aspx?UserName=HawaiiBrides&m=1 Start by looking for brides who planned recent weddings, or who are planning weddings that are coming up soon, and check out their bios to see who their coordinators are. You can also look for vendor reviews in bios of girls who got married already to see if they were happy with the different WC's they hired.

$15k is definitely do-able for 30 ppl.  Where-abouts are you thinking of getting married?  On the south side or on the west side? In the early stages of my planning I called around and tried to get a feel of each company/WC.  I meshed really well with two of the independent WC but ultimately decided to have my ceremony & reception at a resort/hotel so I went with their in-house coordinators (whom I loved!)The indepepndent WC's I personally really liked were Lena of First Class Weddings and Lori of Tropical Maui Weddings.  But the extent of my experience with them is limited to pre-contract interaction.  I would definitely call around because ultimately you should go with someone whom you feel really gets your vision.  Good luck!  :)

Thanks Ladies :) you are so very helpful! I think I am going to try and keep my overall budget to 15,000 or less but hopefully the ceremony/reception will be 10 or less. My dream wedding includes a private luau type reception so hopefully I can find the right coordinator who can make it all happen :)
