I need some serious help deciding on an Island

Hi Ladies here is the dilemma that is making my head spin.... I can't figure out which island to have our wedding on. I've been to Oahu, Maui and the big island and loved them all for different reasons and although I've never been to Kauai I haven't ruled it out. There will be around 30 guests mostly travelling from Toronto (and most of whom have never been to hawaii at all) should I choose based on a)who has the best wedding package b) which is the easiest to fly to c) price for guests who are travelling d)which island will be slightly cooler in July so I don't melt please help me cuz if I can't decided this how the heck am I gonna actually plan the wedding Any ideas you have will save me :)

hmmm...it's a tough decision, but the good thing is that ALL the islands are so beautiful, you can't go wrong!  For us the deciding factor was what would be easiest and cheapest for the guests.  So they had better all RSVP yes when the time comes :)  You could start checking out different venues on-line for all the islands and see if there is any place or hotel that you really love...and think about what you want your wedding to be like and what fits that image (and budget!) best (hotel, private estate, on the beach...) that might help narrow it down!  Good luck!

Let's see if I can take this point by pointa) you can find a good deal anywhere, it just depends what you are looking for.b) honolulu has the most flights, that said if you are connecting anyway, its not a big deal to get to maui, big island or kauai from the west coast.c) Keep in mind summer is high season in Hawaii so you won't get the cheapest flights then, although if you pounce on airfare quickly you should be ok. HNL is usually the cheapest to fly to. The main thing about picking a destination wedding is you have to be ok with the fact that many will bail due to cost. The important thing is will the people you absolutely have to have there be able to god) July will be tropical, but September is usually the hottest month. Not sure that any will be cooler, unless you go inlandSince you've been to several of the islands, you know what they are like.. What comes to mind when you picture your wedding? Will it be at a hotel? private estate? beach and restaurant after? That decision should point you in the right direction. Check out the bios here this is the best resource!!

Yay for a fellow Torontonian! We chose based on where we thought our guests would have an easy time flying too. There were direct flights with Air Canada to Honolulu and to Kahului, and we didn't want to do Oahu, so that settled Maui for us. We also chose Maui because I felt it was easier to plan a DW there - I had an easier time researching vendors.

We chose Maui because it is super easy and at that time and still super affordable to get to. Ohau was too packed for us, I know there are some nice spots on Ohau without so many people but I didn't know of any, but I am sure a local could tell you about some. We like Maui because it is touristy yet still has gorgeous hikes and outdoor stuff. Kauai was too outdoorsy for us. Really there isn't much to do besides lay on the beach and hike, ot really many shops or stuff like that, I think it would be a perfect honeymoon spot! I'm sure everyone on here will have a different opinion of which island is best, but I say narrow it down to two islands and start researching and see which island you get better feedback from and go from there! HTH! Oh and any west coast port fly's direct to Maui!

We chose Maui and it ended up being the best decision for us. Our guests LOVED it. We loved it. Maui really is special. There was something for everyone. That said, I don't think you could go wrong choosing ANY Hawaiian island because they are all beautiful and special in their own way.
