Last week, my FI and FSIL (since I am an ocean and continent away - how nice of them!!!)went to meet with our friend about using his backyard for our wedding reception. I finally got the update on all the details from my FSIL about it and it sounds like a go!!! It is oceanfront in Kahala (on O'ahu), and our friend is going to let us use it for FREE! Of course we are going to give him a donation
There's a pool in the yard so we can put floating lanterns or flowers in it... There are palm trees in the backyard and lots of space for everything! My mom was kinda freaked out about having it there because it's a lot more work, but we will be able to set everything up the day before, and I hired a DOC (KathE) to do everything for us on the actual day - so that should put all her worries to rest! It'll be a lot of legwork in the meantime, but I am suuuper excited about it being really cheap, intimate, and outdoors!! YAY!!! Now I don't have to worry anymore, phew! Our friend was like "I really want to do this for you guys, it's important!" YeahhhH!!
