Invitations

Hi---Just wanted to know how far in advance you all sent out your invitations. I already sent out STDs a few months ago, so the word is out. The wedding is in May.  Thanks for your advice!!

I did something similar to maui2011. We sent out our invites six months in advance without any STD. We're having an AHR as well and I couldn't bear to bombard people (and my wallet) with three mailings about our wedding events. This way we'll only have the invites to the wedding and invites to AHR. Our RSVP is set for three months in advance. Unfortunately some people are getting confused by our early invites and no STD.

My wedding is in 2 weeks. I sent my STD's in February and then sent my invites in July with a RSVP date of Aug 28. Of course, not everyone adhered to the RSVP date and we had to go after a lot of people to get an answer, the last of which we got at the end of October!!! I think its good to have your RSVP date 2-3 months in advance of the wedding date (when its a destination wedding) because you need time to go after the stragglers and also so you can budget everything knowing how many people are actually going to attend.

We're sending STD's in Jan. for our Aug. wedding. Invitations will go out in June. I think given that we're doing STD's I don't need to send out invites super early.
