Drake – Hello and welcome! Sorry to hear that Anita and Kristin are both booked for your date! I don’t really know of any other bakers from experience alone, but my friend used to intern for Alice’s Piece of Cake. Her prices are a little higher, but she’s a nice woman. Another option is Golden Delight – they make Chinese cake (they’re lighter, softer, and just all around yummy but I’m biased because my family eats it all the time) with a soft whipped cream frosting and fresh strawberries inside. DELICIOUS if you’re willing to go check it out. The flavors probably won’t be too extensive if at all, but the cake speaks for itself I think. GL! Freckles – Hello and welcome! I’ve heard great things about brides and the OSU golf club. Make a post and you’ll find a few brides here that know about the space I think. :) GL! Ehampu – I see you on here all the time and never really thought of you as a new knottie. Thanks for the intro! For florists – definitely check out Flowers on Springtree lane (especially if you’re on a budget). They do wonders as far as getting you the flowers you want at a wonderful price. The work from home, so overhead costs are as low as can be. Lora at Elegant Touch Events is wonderful as well! She has a $500 minimum but her prices are great, Anita recommends her as a perfectionist, and she’s very experienced. Others to look into that I’ve heard good things about are Bloomtastic, Flowers on High (rec by La Bella Torta), and Flowers on Orchard Lane – all were out of my budget though. :-\ Beckmeister – Welcome and congrats! I hope you find this board as helpful as I do. :) Gmmore – Welcome as well! Sounds like you’re on top of things! :) Brih – Welcome and congrats! :) Bstegma – We’re both ‘07 graduates. I’m from the Cbus area but FI is from east Tennessee. We actually had our epics taken on campus since we decided not to have the wedding there. :) It was a ton of fun and since it was during summer classes, there weren’t many problems with people being everywhere. We loved them! Have you thought about doing this with your photographer? The Miami Merger thing is fun. One of our florists is a Miami Merger too and her son is also one, so I thought that was neat. I’m really surprised at the stats for it! And yes, I’m excited for the yearly greeting as well! It’ll be an awesome reminder of our time there!

Drake - I think we might have been in the same class, but I graduated a year early.  I think we had a couple classes together.  If you hadn't said his name, I would have recognized him and never been able to place where I knew him from.....I'm not great with names but I remember faces.  :)

Hi everyone, Ive posted a few things and based on other knotties recommendations so far the wedding planning has been great! My name is Teresa and my fiance name is Zach.  We've been together eight years (started dating in HS) and recently got engaged in Aruba this past June (GREAT honeymoon location). Our date is August 7th, 2010. We are having our ceremony at Broad Street Preysbetrian and our reception at The Columbus Atheltic Club.  Mathew smith is our photographer and as soon as I send the deposit our flowers are going to be done by Flowers on Springtee Lane.  We booked Anita Kline last week and I found the dress at Wendy's bridal!  I've decided to find the DJ and then take a break for awhile! Thanks for all the help!  With you guys things have been so much easier!

tryoung -- welcome! I know I've posted in reply to a few of your posts, but I wanted to say Congrats! You've chosen some awesome vendors, too, btw (we share a few). ;) Did you ever figure out that dress situation?

Alko-They are great vendors!Ive decided to go with the second dress (at Wendy's), when I went back for the second time and just saw it on the rack I knew it was the one.  Still don't know the designer, but I did manage to get a few pictures, but I'm not sure how to post them on here.  I think I'm going to wait till the begining of Oct more to spread out the wedding cost, but also to see if they have a sale.  If not it'll be ok.   I'm just happy to find a great dress!

Great news tryoung! :) Glad you found "the one"! As for posting the pictures if you're interested in trying to ID the dress to find a better price, you'll have to upload the pic to a photo account (snapfish, photobucket, etc) and then post the link to the photo for us to see it. That's probably the easiest way to do it. Again, the girls on The Dress board are probably more helpful than us, so maybe try there. If you want, you can email it to me, and I can post it for you on the Dress board (with your face cut out if you prefer), and someone can find it for you! Good luck on congrats on getting things moving right along! Good idea on taking a little break after the bookings, too. It helped save my sanity (and FI's too). :P

Hi my name is Melissa and my fiance is Ryan. I've posted a couple things here or there but mostly just look! I've got some great ideas from this board! We are actually planning our wedding from dayton so this website has been a savior. I'm getting married in June 2010 and having our ceremony and reception at the taylor mansion. I love the place and the setting, just praying it doesnt rain that day ;) So far, i've got my dress from cincinnati bridal and a family friend is going to be our dj. We are looking for an affordable rehearsal dinner and hotel to book at the moment. Also, suggestions wiith where to find bridesmaids dresses would be helpful!

Welcome mjanosek! I'm planning from OOT too, and this board is definitely my first place to go for vendor recs! Our photographer is actually based in Dayton but travels at no charge -- 808 studios, have you heard of them? Taylor Mansion is beautiful and Chris is a very nice guy. :) The place was just too small for our number of guests. As for your questions, I'm stuck on RD and hotel locations too, but for BM dresses, have you already checked the usual David's Bridal, Alan Ray, Wendy's, etc? If you got your dress at Cincinnati bridal, you might know all about Bridal and Formal as well -- they have a huge assortment of BM dress and they match most online quotes like netbride, etc. Otherwise, check out places like Nordstroms, Macys, etc. for better deals (since they don't have the "BM" label to it). I heard even Target has a line out now?! HTH and GL planning!

mjanosek I plan on finding my bridesmaid dresses at White House Black Market, JCrew, or Ann Taylor...they fall more into the "can wear again" category...and actually mean it!

Alko and Danielle- Thanks for the bridesmaids dress advice! I'll definitely check them out! I forgot bridal and formal has bridesmaids dresses. Alko726- I actually do know 808 studios. We looked at them but was a little out of my price range but loved the pictures! I'm actually going with Sarah Babcock who is also based out of dayton. Where are you having your ceremony and reception?

Hi! My name is Maggie and I also have been "lurking" around here for awhile. My fiance's name is Chad and we got engaged on the Fourth of July! We don't have a wedding date or location yet (we are going to do some type of destination wedding) but we do have a date and location for the reception. It will be 9/25/2010 at Dorral Farm in Marysville. Any wedding location suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
