Riverclub/Confluence

Has anyone had a wedding/been to a wedding there recently?  Our date isn't set for sure, but next July or August is what we're aiming for.  Anyone know how friendly/helpful they are?  How about the food? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

I haven't been to one yet, but a friend in getting married there in 2 weeks. She has had mixed reviews so far; I guess her event planner left and no one advised her that she had a new one, and the new one is VERY slow on communication. Other than that, she said the space is nice, and up to that point, they were very helpful, and she had a good experience. She is also using the gazeebo for her ceremony, and said it is also quite nice. It's not much, but hope it helps a little :)

I'm getting married there in June 2010 for sure, and so far my experiences have been good overall. I'd give them a B+/A- at this point, ONLY because when I booked, they were going through some changes in management (my lady left and I was given to someone else, and some miscommunications happened in the transfer), AND the fact that I entered the picture as confluence was getting RID of a package system they used to offer, and don't any longer. (For instance, upon booking I thought I was getting a free cake via the package system, but didn't. It may have been my fault,) So I dont think most brides will have my problems. I think the venue is beautiful, the pricing is reasonable, and I have HEARD great reviews about the food and service, but i haven't tasted anything yet. Just make sure that everything you want is in writing, but that's a rule for ANY vendor. I'd still recommend Confluence to anyone, and I'm not sure why it's not a more popular knottie venue :-) As for the slow responses from them, I havent had that problem so far, but I also havent done a whole lot of actual planning yet since booking... Good luck!

We worked with Karen since January 2008 and got married June 27, 2009.  She has been very helpful every step of the way (as has all the other staff members).  I had a package deal which included cake, centerpieces, ice sculpt., open bar time, and a few more things, so meeting the minimum wasn't hard.  I don't believe they still do it this way.  We had so many compliments on food and staff service from all of our guests.  We couldn't have asked for a better reception place!  If you have any questions, let me know!

My daughter just got married there (on the patio facing the downtown skyline) on Friday evening Sept. 18, 2009. The night was incredible! I could tell you that prior to the event itself I may have posted the same thing about slow response from the new coordinator. We too were working with Katy (who left to be with her ill mother). The new contact at Confluence was on a number of occasions slow to respond to my phone calls, but was fairly prompt on email responses. I made her a VERY detailed list and diagrams of what I wanted done and the necessary timing, They really stuck to my instructions and it was fantastic! She and the staff at Confluence, put the centerpieces, menus, table numbers and all the other intimate details into the correct place and really created the wedding we had all envisioned and worked so hard to create!!! Our guest are still commenting on what a great job was done and how elegant the wedding was. We also had the cocktail hour on the patio and moved the guest to the gazebo for a group photo while the staff re- sat the patio for the cocktail hour. I admit we were a bit worried about this, and though I did not see it as I went with the B&G for pictures - I heard it was very well done! All, in all, I would give Confluence a A+. The service staff and the food were incredible and all things considered for you can't beat the price and the location. The "packages" do not include a cake or ice sculpture but the staff will make sure that your guest are well taken care of and the food is very, very good! I'll post some pictures (from our guest's camera's) for you if I can figure out how to. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have...I'd be glad to provide any other feedback you might feel would be helpful. Good luck with your planning. I'm sure your event will be incredible!
