Sunset Ceremony Start Time

So we booked the photographer!  So happy!!  He had asked for start/finish time.  Our ceremony coordinator had suggested 5 pm so there would be lighting for pictures.  When I asked the photographer his opinion on the start time he said this needs to be discussed with the coordinator and that he can take pictures 15 minutes after sunset.  So.....I look up sunset time...7:13 pm the day of our wedding.  Any suggestions or experience on what time to start and what worked?

I've heard from folks that the best lighting for photos is during the hour before sunset, so you'll probably want to be done by at least 6 I'd think, so you can get that great lighting.

so you're wedding is (i think) like a month before ours... our WC and photog suggested a start time of around 4:15 - 4:30, be done by 5- 5:15 then take family photos after.

then our photog said that the sun sets around 7:15, so we'll sneak out from dinner around 6:45 to take more photos, and then he said that guests usually like to watch the sunset from lani as well.

    hope that helps?

Our sunset time was at 7:01, and we were out taking some pics at about 6:30. We didn't do very many though.
