**sarahest**

I just noticed you're getting married at the Bayer Estate.  We had our rehearsal dinner there but would have LOVED to have our wedding there (too many guests though).  I am so excited to see how your wedding turns out.  That place is GORGEOUS!  Richard and Sooz are absolutely freaking wonderful. (I may be a little biased since they are family friends but still... they are great!)  The location/view/set up cannot be beat... it's perfect!

Anyway... just wanted to share my excitement.  :)  Have fun planning and PLEASE share pictures afterwards.

Hi guys!  Thanks, I really love the venue too.  My mom found it for me, but when I first walked through the grounds it felt really sweet and homey, exactly how I wanted the wedding to be.  :]  It's sort of bittersweet, though, that it works out because of the size thing.  FI is from the mainland and all our college friends are there too and since we knew we couldn't have everyone we wanted at the wedding (unless we waited about a decade, haha, darn it that our friends all got jobs at nonprofits), we could have a really intimate, family and oldest friends wedding.  Bayer is perfect for that :]

What was your rehearsal dinner like?  Where did you eat, and who catered?

ps.  Sooz is AMAZING!  She has such a neat life story!!

Our rehearsal dinner was really casual.  As I said before, Sooz and Richard are family friends so they were doing us a huge favor letting us have it there.  The next day after our rehearsal they were having a Halloween fundraiser for No-kill animal shelters and Sooz was all worried about the decorations (i.e. dead bodies, spider webs, head stones) getting in that way with our rehearsal dinner.  DH and I didn't mind at all... instead we went with an orange themed rehearsal dinner which Sooz and her friends set up PERFECTLY!  We ate on the lawn with a bunch of different tables scattered around the lawn so people could eat closer to the ocean or under the trees, etc.  As for food, we went really casual.  My uncle and cousin cooked a ton of bbq food for everyone.  It worked out perfectly (and like any Hawaii gathering, we had WAY too much food left over).

Sooz and Richard are very accomodating to whatever you want to do with the place... so I know you're going to be able to get that homey feel along with everything looking fabulous.  The location alone is beautiful and romantic... with decorations its TEN TIMES better.  :)
