We aren't getting married in Oahu so I can't give you any recommendations, but I can tell you what I was priced for our catering on Maui.  We are having 50 people at our wedding and are spending $5,000 for food & bar for the day, but we went with a  caterer who provides tables, tablecloths, dinnerware, glassware, etc. so we thought that was a good price since we got all of the table & rental chairs in that price too.

    Good luck with your search!

Where do you plan to get married? Most the caterers I've looked into charge a delivery fee so I've been trying to find caterers on the windward side (where we're marrying) to save on delivery. Keneke's is about $20/person and we're hoping to use them, although the lack of email responses is discouraging. Here's a list of other caterers in oahu that you may consider:

    yamas fish market
    a catered expierence
    catered moments
beaches & backyards - (they were way outta my budget though)
    highway inn

I'm having Off-Menu cater my party of 80-90 guests.  The menu actually comes from Indigo, which is a really good local restaurant in Downtown.  We're paying a premium for food at $40/person, but we're getting the works.... down to action stations with chefs from Indigo.  I'm pretty sure Off-Menu can work with your budget, and they're really great to work with.  I live in LA, so I'm doing everything through email and phone.  I met with Kevin once, and he walked us through two meetings with Indigo's catering manager and Town/Downtown's catering manager.  Town/Downtown is great if you are looking for sustainable, organic local foods.  They really adhere to the principle even going so far as meeting with the farmers and making sure all their produce are fresh and livestock are treated right.  I guess it all depends on what kind of food you want.

AKWinterbride- which catering company did you go with? I am in the early stages of planning a wedding in Maui.

    Thanks!

we're just about to close with elite catering - their communication sucks (abt 10 days to respond each of my emails), but I met with them in early Jan and really liked them (super nice, food was good and very creative), and as for the communication issues, every time I really need to speak with them I just call my wedding coordinator and ask her to reach out to them - not the ideal scenario, but it's been working....

we're paying about $40/pp + services (about $1K), but we're saving on rentals for serving dishes, and other basics, and also includes bartending (everything but alcohol is included too). Not very cheap, but I didn't find it expensive either, after quoting with some others that didn't include a lot of that and that would require additional rentals.

they were also very creative in giving us ideas to save on other aspects of the wedding, and were able to accomodate some special requests of local brazilian food to the menu.
