Hawaii

Anyone want to help me with a bridesmaid dress?

I have to find one for a wedding I'm in this summer! Our original plans (custom made dresses) fell through. Anyone love their BM dresses? Any suggestions of companies I should look at?

Stipulations:

It has to fall on or above the knee.
Mossy green
Chiffon or other lightweight summer outdoorsy fabric

I'm going straight to Hawaii after this wedding (it's on a tiny island near Vancouver), so bonus points for anyone who can help me find something I could wear out there!

Good luck! I haven't even looked at BM dresses. But, I know some of the great ladies on here have some ideas.

I don't have BM's so I'm not up to speed on the brands and types but I am however on Vancouver Island..... .which tiny island?? Is it pender, mayne or saturna? Or I guess you could be referring to this island LOL

Our summers don't get much warmer than 30-35, and even those are few and far between. We are also known to get rain in pretty much every season. Depending on your location it also gets windy being that we are completely surrounded by water.

two of my girls tried on dresses at DB this week. This one looked best on them and seems to go well with any body type (I have a size 0, 12, and 18).

Personally, I LOVE the Pretty Maids line which is customizable to length, fabric, and color (but it's not available anywhere in Hawaii).  You just choose the dress style and they make it from there.  http://prettybridesmaids.com/

Oh my gosh, really?!? How did I not know that? I lived in Victoria for a year while doing some courses at UVic. The wedding is going to be on Salt Spring - it's going to be gorgeous and I'm super pumped for it. It's funny you mention Pender though, 'cause my uncle (the father of my best friend/cousin who's getting married) was a priest on Pender for years. Until we started going to Hawaii, he'd always call Pender his island in the Pacific. LOL!

Alfred Angelo is another popular brand.  Here are some of their chiffon dresses.

That's too funny - that's exactly where I am, in Victoria.... born and raised!! I love our little hippie islands LOL. I've seen so many great pics from weddings on Salt Spring and Pender. It's true, we have a few areas around us that on a hot summer day can totally feel tropical...... I was just talking about Tofino last week as one of them. MMMM I can't wait for summer now.

check aftersix - that's where my BMs are getting theirs. they had lots and lots of options for chiffon dresses and we liked them much better than alfred angelo or david's bridal, and not much more expensive (actually you can find very good deals online if you know your size and style number).
depending in when you need it by, do order them asap... we ordered them in mid Feb to get here mid May....
