4. Melissa Roshan (A) - Melissa was an absolute joy to work with. She has such a calming presence and a lot of experience working as a make-up artist. I loved that she was willing to travel to the hotel for the day of the wedding. It made the timing so much easier. She did the make-up for me, my mother, my mother-in-law and my sister-in-law. Everyone looked stunning. My mother and I had gone in for trials before the wedding and Melissa was great at listening to what we wanted and then translating it into reality. I don't generally wear a ton of make-up and she was respectful of that. I was worried that I would end up looking like someone else because of the make-up, but she was great at making sure I just looked like an enhanced version of myself. My mom rarely wears make-up at all and was reluctant to wear some for the day of the wedding. Melissa put her at ease, used minimal make-up, and my mom looked amazing as well. Melissa was wonderfully responsive to all my emails, and she had great tips about skin-care and make-up choices. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone and everyone!5. Jen Motter (A) - Jen did hair for me, my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law and my maid of honor. Jen travelled to us for the day of the wedding, and that was wonderfully convenient. She charged a minimal travel fee but it was absolutely worth it. I thought her prices were extremely reasonable in general. Everyone looked fantastic. We had a small glitch getting my hair to look right, but Jen was so patient and kept working at it until it was absolutely perfect. She was very responsive and responded to questions right away.6. The Marriott at the Airport (A) Shauna was our contact at the hotel and she was amazing. She always responded very quickly to calls and emails. She always let me know when she was planning on leaving town, even if it was just for the weekend. She was great at accomodating any requests we had, and if it couldn't be done she let us know why. Of course they charged for everything so make sure to get prices before you commit to everything, but she was always open about costs and I felt like the costs were fair. The staff was extremely professional the day of the wedding. The ballroom was renovated early in 2009 so the carpet, walls, etc. in the ballroom are all relatively new. They do allow outside caterers for food they cannot accomodate and as we wanted Indian food, the only food we got from the hotel was for a farewell breakfast on the morning after the wedding but that was pretty good. It was really convenient because we had so many out-of-town guests and they had a free shuttle to the airport. Also, it was convenient to have all the events at one place so we didn't have to worry about transportation for anything. The hotel also has a shuttle to Easton if any of the guests want to go check it out or need anything from the mall.7. Saffron Patch (A -) This is an Indian restaurant in Cleveland. They had catered my cousin's wedding and a couple other weddings I had gone to and their food has always been delicious. We actually didn't even look at any other caterers. Their prices were really good and they were also accomodating to our requests. My husband is from Georgia so we asked for a mix of Indian food and Southern food served buffet style, and the cook researched some southern cooking and recipes and it tasted wonderful. We had some Indian deserts from him and we didn't want it to be the same standards you see at all weddings so he did some thinking and came up with chocolate dipped jalebi, which were amazing. Several people came up to me and told me how great they were. All the food tasted absolutely amazing. We had one tasting where my husband, my parents, my brother and I all went, and we had a second tasting where just my parents went. He had no problem letting us have tastings so we were sure of our ffod choices. My only problem was that he was difficult to communicate with. My dad would leave several voicemails for him before he would get back to him. And it routinely took multiple emails for me to get a response from him. I know that the hotel mentioned they had a hard time getting information from him as well. In the end, everything was great but it was a little frustrating during the process.
