Cheers Chalet

Does anyone have any thoughts on Cheers Chalet? Price, service, alcohol, food, atmosphere, experience? I was thinking of looking at it. Thanks!

I personally wasn't impressed with them, I went for a taste testing and tour. There food was ok but nothing special, and I didn't care for the rooms.

We liked the facility, but they nickel and dime you to death. So, before you make a choice, make them detail a quote. You pay separately for everything - dishes, napkins, tablecloths, etc. So, be sure you know what all the costs are before you make a decision!

I had my reception there. It was beautiful. I dropped everything off on Thursday, and they put everything out, and boxed everything up when it was over. They did everything I wanted, and I was very happy with the service. However, I paid through the nose for them. My minimum was $5500, and I had to add a chocolate fountian to meet my minimum and still ended up paying them $8800. White or Ivory tableclothes and any color napkins are included. If you have more than 75 people, you have to pay for a valet. You have to pay for a bartender, or server for drinks. If you want them to cut the cake, you pay per guest. If not, you have to provide your own plates and forks for the cake. I paid my cake lady to stay and serve and bought pretty paper plates and platic forks and saved over $150. They have more than one company they there, and you must use their companies, and they don't count toward the minimum. The food does. The drinks do not. You can bring in your own alcohol, which saves alot. They say you are assigned a wedding coordinator to work with, but when I called with questions, I got whomever answered the phone, I never did get to talk to the girl who was suppoed to be my coordinatior. She had quit by my wedding. They won't put any prices in writing except the room rate and the minimum until 14 days before your wedding, and they raise the rates every January. Long story short, if you are on a small budget, I wouldn't bother. We wanted in Lancaster, outside, with alcohol, so that was our only option to have exactly what we wanted. They did a great job with service day of, my guests we more than pleased, they still talk about how amazing our reception was, but we paid dearly for it. None of our families had to do anything put show up.  Our total wedding was $12,000, including all of the tuxes and dresses. We paid for everything, and almost $9000 was them.

We looked at having our wedding/reception there, but I just couldn't get over the cleanliness (or lack of) there. It COULD be a beautiful place if they dusted on occasion. I guess that's just one of my things...I'm a dust fanatic. :)
