Shipping costs to HI are killing me! Anyone planning to order paper from LCIpaper.com?

I need to send out my invites in a couple of weeks and had everything picked out, except I didn't realize how ridiculous shipping costs to Hawaii are! I am ordering this beautiful linen cardstock from LCIpaper.com, the ONLY website I could find that sells 100lb linen cardstock (everywhere else only has 80 lb which I'm told is acceptable by post office standards but way too thin/flimsy for postcards).

My shipping is about $55 for lcipaper.com and even the other wonderful paper sites like paperandmore.com and cardsandpockets.com have crazy high shipping rates (and not as great a selection as lci paper). 

I'm planning to order tomorrow - is anyone interested in going in with me? It seems like the shipping is capped at $55 no matter how much I order so we could split the cost pro rata and get it by early next week.

Wow, $55 is ridiculous.  Are you on Oahu?  If so, have you tried looking locally (Fisher, Creations by You, Creations Unlimited, etc.)?  How much do you need?  I just used regular white cardstock for our post card RSVPs and they were fine.  I don't remember the exact weight, but I don't think they were very thick.

shipping costs got me too...try calling lci and asking them if they can ship flat-rate priority to you.  when paperandmore charged me $30+ for shipping and it came in a flat-rate priority mail box (which costs like $12), i emailed them and they promptly refunded the difference.  they told me to contact them prior to my next order and they can adjust the shipping cost for me...

@Mrs Nicole - I actually ended up going to Fisher yesterday and found EXACTLY what I wanted, at less than 1/2 the price Creations by you was charging! Thank you!
@richnikki - Thank you so so much for your offer! You are tooooooo kind! I ended up paying only about $50 in shipping from two companies (small orders) and I'm going to get my linen cardstock locatlly.  I really really appreciate your offer!!!
@jaymers99 - great suggestion.  I've actually called cardsandpockets AND lcipaper and they said that the rate is the rate (both were over 50).  However, cardsandpockets told me that it would NOT fit in a flat rate box and if they ended up paying less for shipping, they would refund the difference.  I just didn't want to take that chance.  I'm glad I waited and got it locally! 

Seriously, I wish I posted this earlier.  I would have saved myself a lot of headache!!! Thank you all!

So glad to hear you found something locally!  Isn't Hawaii funny like that?  You just never really know what's actually available on the island.  And you don't normally think you'll find things for your wedding at an office supply store like Fisher.  I know it must have been stressful, but I'm glad you got a better deal in the end.
