*JanineRM* / David's Bridal

Hi Janine!  Did you get alterations done at David's Bridal?  Did they do a good job?  Did you compare prices or just go for the convenience of having it done there?

My mom is bringing back my dress from Oregon today (the Hawaii store didn't have my size and it was too late to special order).  I was telling FI I didn't know if I should take it to DB or somewhere else for alterations, and he said, "Well, what do your knotties think?"  Laughing

    Hey Jamie!

I had my alterations done at David's Bridal because of the convenience. I was running low on time and didn't really get a chance to compare prices.
With that said, they were able to do all my alterations in time for the wedding and did a good job of it. I had to have my dress hemmed, taken in a little at the top, have a bustle added and add a hook. It cost me $180 total and it took them about 2-3 weeks to finish. They also do a bead check for you.
If I didn't get it done at David's Bridal, I would have taken it to Lani Roberts. She was the seamstress we found to fix all the bridesmaids dresses. She works miracles! I think she would have been around the same price at David's and probably the same amount of time.

I hope this helps you out!

Thanks, Janine!  I'll probably go get a quote from DB this weekend then check with another seamstress later in the week.  I don't have my undies or shoes yet, so not quite ready for alterations yet...
