Gown Cleaning / Preserving

Have any of you married ladies had your wedding gown cleaned and preserved?  Do you have recommendations on a good place to do it?  As well as price range?  Thanks!

I haven't. I want to do a TTD session soon. I'm not going to have mine preserved. I doubt my boys will want to wear it. Also half the fun of being a bride is the dress hunt, not wearing someone elses. I have also heard that once you take the dress out of the box after preserving, it yellows due to the chemicals.

The boutique I bought mine at (Gabrielle's) recommends against preserving the gown.  She thinks it ruins it in the long run.  She recommends to just have it cleaned.  If it's just cleaned you can get it out and look at it also.  I think the cleaners she works with is Dublin Cleaners.  I think I remember seeing some good reviews from other knotties.  Hope that helps!

Thanks, I'll look into just getting it cleaned then.  I just want to get it put away.  I really don't even want to keep it but DH insists I do, "just in case".

my seamstress suggested getting it cleaned, then wraping it in a white sheet and then place in a cardboard box.  then tape the box closed.  she said this will perserve it without all the chemicals and you can take it out and look at it whenever you want.  HTH!
