Can I get your opinons?

So we're heading to Maui next January for a wedding and I'm stuck between two condos to rent. One has an amazing view and one looks like it's much more up to date. We wanted something cheap since we'll still be saving for a house. They are both about $800 for 9 nights so the price can't decide it for me (dang it!). Here's the links, please give me your opinions!

Condo #1 (great view)

Condo #2 (nicer overall)

I would go with the nicer condo.  The view is still decent. Plus, Maui is so small and Kihei is right on the water that anytime you leave your condo you have a great view!

I agree. Go with nicer. I mean a nice view is cool when you're there. But how often will you be hanging out there? Maybe more so at night? And then the view doesn't matter. Everyone is different though. We were never at ours.

Here's the link to the Maui Revealed review of this building - http://www.wizardpub.com/maui/mrvillagebysea.html
    I took note of this:
Resort is on a yucky beach next to a yucky creek, and to get to the ocean you have a long walk across their scraggly lawn.

So, it looks like they're in the part of Kihei where the beaches are covered in algae.  Also, the building is right next to the road and condo #2 looks like it's actually next to the road (I saw it in some of the pics).  Are you guys cool with all this?

Given this, I think you may be better off with the one that's at least the furthest from the road, whichever condo that may be.   Just from looking at the pictures, it looks like that may actually be condo #1.

I was about to ask what the Maui Revealed book said about the buildings!

I would choose the nicer condo too although it did seem that the condo was very close to the main road. However, I loved waking up and being able to look out at the ocean so that makes me lean toward condo #1.

I found that the beaches in South Kihei are better than those in North Kihei so perhaps you want to pick the condo that is further south? Whichever you choose, you will barely be in your condo anyway so you can't really go wrong!  :)
