Cocktail hour music?

Hi girls,

Just wondering what kind of music  you all had during cocktail hour? Did you use a live musican or an i-pod? Was it music with vocals or instrumentals? Also, what genre? My fiance wants hawaiian music, which is fine with me, but I was wondering what other people did! Thanks!

We had a live band. One of the guys used to work wih MH, so he said he would do it for free. They are like a Hawaiian-style cover band. Everyone loved them. They really set a great vibe!

Um, the sound of the ocean?  We're not having music, but we'll be at an open-air dining rm restaurant that opens out to the ocean.  I think ppl will manage.

We did an entire ipod reception! Our cocktail music was all covers by the Vitamin String Quartet.

we are having live music for our ceremony and the band is going to break down and set up during cocktail hour, so we are going to have ipod - mix of local/hawaiian music

The band is actually friends of ours from college, they're called You and Me.  There prices are reasonable and they have a playlist on thier website www.youandmehawaii.com HTH!

We have a solo guitarist for cocktail hour and first hour of dinner.  He will probably play half hawaiian songs and half whatever else.

We are also having a solo guitarist. He is playing for our ceremony and cocktail hour.

We had a 3 person ensamble... ukelele and guitar!!  AND THEY WERE AWESOME!!!  It is the one detail that our guests keep talking about over and over again    We had them play for the ceremony and reception.  Page me on the board or email me at leahmcfarland at gmail.com if anyone would like some details!!
