Unorthodox Processional Order

Our ceremony will be performed by a minister, but it will not occur in a church. We identify ourselves as Protestant, but have no real religious affiliation. Has anyone seen or been a part of an unorthodox wedding processional? And is it me or does anyone else think the groom should get to walk down the aisle also?

It is unique. However, I feel that the wedding should reflect the bride and groom. It's not stated anywhere in the BIBLE that a groom shouldn't be allowed to walk down the aisle. So you can be sure that the one person that actually has the right to judge you won't be offended!

My DH seated his mother for the unity candle lighting, because it is a French tradition for the groom to seat his mother (to show he will always take care of her), then went around and came in with the pastor. You can do it anyway you like. Do a search on ethnic traditions, you may find something you really like that is different.
