affordable catering in the Orange Beach/Baldwin County/Coastal AL

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone in southern AL could give me some advice or point me in the right direction.  We are on a budget, but we decided the biggest part of it would go to catering. Even so, all the estimates we have gotten are much higher than we expected.

We have to have enough food to constitute dinner as it is an evening reception. Right now we are planning for 100 guests.

We were wanting to spend around 20 bucks a head for catering, but at this point it seems we'd be lucky to find something for 2500 dollars.  Our menu is very flexible, though we do not want any seafood. We will be married Feb 16, 2013. Anyone know of any good caterers that could put together a buffet style dinner in the area (or even Mobile that would travel) for 2500 or less?  Thanks!

Unfortunately, that seems about the standard catering price.  I'm in Mobile and wound up using family and friends for "free" catering.  Frankly, I'm surprised you found a $2500 quote for 100 guests!  Just about the only thing you can do in that case is cut the menu down, cut the guest list down, or cut expenses somewhere else.  In the grand scheme of things, if you have a $2000 budget and a quote for $2500, that's not too big of a gap to try to cover.
